I have quite a lot of filters from the library and the program seems to take a while to load, would be nice if the computer could store a file somewhere to avoid a long wait time, also i noticed when rendering something i find not so great, basically if you let something render out then click save it will render over again, i was thinking thats a bit pointless if nothings changed so maybe add some logic code 'if nothings changed don't re-render, just save' which would make more sense imo and also save people time i think. smile:)

Edit - I noticed it re-renders after saving also, i don't get why this is needed imo, maybe im missing something?

If you have 'reduced preview size' (right click on the preview window) it will re-render at save. If you uncheck that, it will take longer to render, but when done, the save should be instantaneous.

IIRC, faster loading is planned for 2.0 (at least for library filters which are a majority for most users).
Reduced preview size ... yes, I understand what you're talking about. It's a feature, but might be annoying, I see. It's very quick to change actually -- so after saving it will stay at full resolution, so ask Vlad if he would like to change this smile:)
Try turning off "Reduce preview size for large images" checkbox in Tools->Options...->Rendering, this will get rid of automatic image downsizing for preview purposes.

yes, this also happens when you download filters and then return to the main GUI. it re-renders what you last had showing. nothing has changed, but it goes through the entire render again.

and, as a corollary to this, i'd like to be able to turn the main render window completely off so that no render takes place in the main GUI. i went looking for a filter the other day that i had more or less mis-placed. i had to go through every single filter in 'my filters'. i didnt need to render every preset of every filter. i just wanted to look at the presets. having the main render going all the time eats cycles that i would have preferred were spent on loading the presets, since that's all i wanted to look at at that time. just a simple radio button that would toggle the main render on and off somewhere along the top of the GUI would be great!
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!
