would it be possible to not have a wrap-around when offsetting an object within an image? that is to say, when i use an offset, either within something like a profile gradient or the offset component itself, would it be possible when i move an object over within an image next to an edge, to not have that effect wrap-around to the other side (vertically and horizontally)?

i know it can be done without having a special switch to do this, and from a code point of view, may seem unnecessary, but from a user pov it would be quite handy.

+1 (Although I haven't fully thought out what should happen on the other-side/wrap around side, yet).
(Also maybe we can make a snippet for this?)

Another similar idea is how I would like the blur component to sometimes not "wrap-around" and blur with the opposite sides. (I understand how it is, is good for seamless tiling, but I'd also like a blur the way Photoshop works...)

interesting that you mentioned doing a snippet, because i'm knee deep in a filter right now that needs this. i'm currently using curves and re-mapping, but it's not very elegant and because of some of the other controls i use, it's hard to keep a re-map correct for just one control, since others affect it.

and as for what shld happen, i'd just like fully masked, blanked out. you could also do it as an overly wide BG and just not show all the way out to the boundarie. whatever works.

and hadnt even thought of the blur, but yes, +1 there, as well.
