Just a few hours ago, I got the Genetica 3 Beta program. I noticed it has a "distort" component that is similar to FF's "offset" component -- but it works differently...
The Genetica component similarly has a map-input for the source, but then, has a map-input for the the direction of the offsets, and then a map-input for the distance of the offsets (-- as opposed to map-inputs for the Horizontal and Vertical "distances"). I think if FF had this kind of an offset/distortion also, it could help expand it's creative results... (I do like to experiment with Offset effects... ![]() |

What you describe is exactly the functionality of the Offset component. We have the following inputs: Source --> map-input for the source image Offset H --> map-input for the X direction of offset Offset V --> map-input for the Y direction of offset Percentage --> map-input for the distance of the offset ![]() --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

Thanks for the explanation, Crapadilla. (I guess if anything, maybe I should be feature wishlisting to Genetica that they have separate H and V directional map-inputs...?) (Heh, but still, I find it a little hard to think in terms of translating a single angle-directional map into to two H and V directional maps...)
Using that Genetica program feels like looking through a mirror and writing with my less dominant hand (-- i.e. I'm going through a learning curve thing). (But I'm already really liking its animation features...) |
