currently, seamless tiling, when on, is on on both the horizontal and the vertical. i was wondering if it would be possible to have a switch to make it only horizontal, only vertical, or both when desired.
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

Why would you want this?

You can easily break the tiling in one direction by putting elements that only appear on one of the half's of the texture. Good examples would be wall textures with moss growing up the bottom edge. They tile horizontally but not vertically.

Seems to me that the more switches, commands and power in general you add into an application the greater the chance of unforeseen conflicts and an application that is more difficult to learn to use for the core purpose.

I agree: I would find Horizontal-only or Vertical-only seamless tiling very useful for mapping of 3d textures.
