Not sure if this specific thing has been asked about before, all though it does seem pretty basic really. I'd like to be able change the anti-aliasng settings and only need to wait for them to be redone, rather than having to wait for the WHOLE tile to be re-rendered. Surely it makes no sense to not have it this way.

Next to impossible if your filter contains at least one image-based component (blur, sharpen, etc.).

Nevertheless, it can be done in "draft" mode, without full internal tree rebuild -- result won't be 100% like a full render, but still would be similar in most of the cases. I dunno if Vlad would agree it's needed though.

Couldn't they just take the algorithm generated from the filter (to make the filter) and instead of after completion of render, storing it in RAM, then just use that to do AA tests?

----Well, I don't the technical details of why that is. All I know is, anti-aliasing is done last, so it seems like it would be fairly simple to change it's settings and leave the underlying render unchanged. Perhaps it can be done in V2, or maybe it is just unpossible to really do at full quality the way that FF is set up.
