I'm not so sure about the inner workings of Filter Forge, but I think it would be nice if there was a compile node that turned an output into a bitmap, you could then do other bitmap functions such as Blur, taken from not an algorithm, but a pure image. Otherwise you have to blur layers upon layers of outputs. Yes?

All bitmap-based components (Blur, Sharpen, High-Pass, Median, etc.) create an internal bitmap before processing:

Very interesting link. Informative as well. Do Blurs at a radius of 0 still output a bitmap? Or do they have a sort of switch that says 'at 0, do nothing'?

Yes. At 0 they'll just pass the samples through. |
