I would love to be able to apply a filter and have the result become the current External Image without having to save image and load it back in.

Could this be made to happen in the background with some sort of temp file being written, so that such filters could be build that would be able to be (more easily) applied multiple times?

I would have a multitude of uses for it.

It would be particularly good for making things that grow.

And for games that you can actually play in FF... I could make you a working chess board if you gave me this. smile:D (Although I'd probably settle for something significantly simpler.)

recursive results? hmmm, i suggested recursive looping a long while back and i'm pretty sure it was shot down. i know you're just asking for the external to become recursive and frankly, i like it, but i wouldnt hold your breath on this one. still, version two may well hold some surprises. and i'd certainly love to see your FF chess game. that is an idea that never even came close to my own mind. very cool idea! smile:)
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

i think we can do it by rendering image and again using it as source next time
but yes
automatic working could save time in batch renders
