Something interesting that FF should have too: a Remap (XY Lookup) component!

For those interested in the details...

... here's the thread over at "you-know-where": Clicky! smile;)

Current methods in actually doing take collective amounts of components which to me looks inefficient and time consuming. It takes ages to render and I'd rather have 1 component stand in to map out local X and Y if I ever want to.

Basically it just opens doors to more possibilities, and you get additional time to actually complete the filter, rather than sitting and pondering for ages and ages on how to get that 1 shape to repeat and wrap around a circle. smile;)

(A serious question) Why is it hard for the FF team to add components without releasing a whole new version (like v2)? And if it isn't, why haven't they been doing it?

Because we concentrate all our manpower on high-priority stuff. Earlier, it was the Mac version (which took almost two years of development time), now it's the infrastructure for the new features of v2.0.

As for this particular component, it (in its simplest case) doesn't seem to require much additional infrastructural support, though I didn't investigate it in depth yet.

I missed it, but as long as someone's avatar/sig isn't [R] rated or racist etc.. then let's not evict people ha-ha. And yeah, the remapper concept looks pretty cool. But as much as I have complained about things to-do-with FF in the past, I am fairly confident Vlad has big plans for V2, and now that the Mac version is out, it can't be terribley far away. smile:D

My comment was intended as a quip about a gif. Understandably, it was
interpreted as a personal attack on someone from another forum.
Unfortunately that is something I cannot change so I will have to
leave it at that.
