If any of you have used Valve's Hammer map editor, you will know what I'm talking about. It's a map editor that has 4 resizeable windows. It's like having a window with a fully adjustable Horizontal and Vertical split bar. You can set any of these windows to any of the 4 views: 3D, XY, XZ, and YZ. Although this is used to construct 3D maps, Filter Forge could easily take advantage of it. For example, What if you had 3 windows of the workspace, each at far corners of the tree, and one be of the preview! (The view options for each quadrant would be: Filter Tree, Node output, and Node controls.)

smile:)

Here's a picture of the editor.

that looks a lot like gtkradiant, the quake/wolfenstein (and others) map editor. but, not sure you'd need all that for FF. in the FF editor, you already have 3 of those, in essence... filter tree, preview of whatever component you've checked, and component's list. so, i dont follow what 'node output' is and 'node controls' and why they need their own preview windows.
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

Well, it would be an option, and would apply more to people with high resolutions. But what if you wanted to trade workspace to look at two filter tree places at once, and could drag a node through the windows? It would save time, and help organization. Node output is the same as a node preview, and the node controls would be a window just showing the controls like when you select a node. And if you can resize it, you can have the biggest part be the filter tree.
