Hi,

FilterForge only allows one to edit their images by choosing filters from the library.
It would be convenient if FilterForge's (quickly accessible) main toolbar has basic image editing tools, ready to apply to the current displayed image (original or one with already an effect applied to it.

I was thinking of tools like e.g. brightness, exposure, contrast, hue, saturation and sharpness.

When one switches to an other library filter after having applied an additional basic imaging tool effect afterall, then everything should be undone, of course: back to true original.

I understand such a feature basically is the same as applying a filter effect of the library but:
- sometimes filters produce effects that ask for some post-processing (e.g. too dark or too dull)
- the filter libary only has a few categories and it can be quite hard to find a certain filter (if you don't know the name of the filter). Especially with having many filters downloaded it can be very time consuming and frustrating to find a filter. Having basic imaging tools in FilterForge's main toolbar is flashing quickly accessible instead.

If you have Filter Forge pro you can simply add in whatever functionality you desire to the filter itself.

It's a bit intimidating to learn at first but it's quite simple.

also, surface filters already have some of the capability you're seeking in the main GUI. you have brightness, saturation and height, and now with version 2, the added lights and occlusion capability. these are all standard with surface filters.
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

+1

Would love an Exposure / F-stop slider for HDRI filter development.
