i was reading another thread just now and it occurred to me that with 7000+ filters and growing and that this affects the startup time of FF, it would be a good idea to have an internal/local usage stat kept so the user could tell what filters he's using and what filters he's not. this would allow one to cull unused filters, either deleting them or simply moving them to another folder so they wouldnt load. i figure i actually use less than 10% of the filters i have. in fact, it's probably less than 5%. but, i like having all of the filters submitted, just in case something weird happens to FF, inc. or to my connection or whatever. i just like that insurance. but, i only download all the filters to one machine. the other machine i just download some.
in conjunction with this, the long ago idea of being able to tell FF where to look for filters would also help on this. one could put the most used in one filter and use that for the default loading, but by clicking something one could change to another folder with other filters within.
just a thought
