Please would you resurrect the distinction between 'user defined' and 'editable' presets? The 'user defined' category has disappeared from view in the latest v2 betas. I like to know which presets are my own variations, as this helps me categorise the filters. Also, I've been re-reading suggestions from 2008 about different ways to organise filters so that it's easier to find favourites -- as far as I can tell, these cries for help (which I echo) have been acknowledged but not acted upon. I think there's a danger of super-programming (adding new functions) at the expense of useability (too darned hard to find what I'm looking for). Please? Please??? Catherine Murray

We didn't remove the distinction between user and factory presets, is still here. Note that it exists in library filters only. If a filter is in My Filters category, all its presets are considered 'user' presets.
As for the danger of superprogramming at the expense of usability, our focus for v2.0 was expanding its image-generation abilities, not usability. Usability will be a priority in our future releases.

Ah. I see. Thank you for the reply. This makes sense. I developed a filing system so that my most-used filters could be categorised, by saving them to My Filters with the original name prefaced by a description and number, e.g. 'Background 003 [filter name]'. From there, depending on the job I'm doing, I mark some of them as My Favorites to make them even more easily found. It's these not-really-My Favorites that show only Editable presets, and not User presets now -- before, they showed both. Oh, and Vlad, I wasn't criticising the purpose of v2 but bemoaning the lack of a user-defined filter storage system. Sorry if what I said seemed harsh -- I know how hard you all work! Yu, actually, the filter storage is one of the most badly designed systems in the entire project. We'd very much like to rewrite it, but that's at least 6 months of work (mostly because it's closely tied to the Filter Library). Since the library also badly needs rewriting, it is likely that we'll redesign both systems at once -- but most likely it won't happen in v2.0.

I can understand that. The drawback with my own filing system (see 9th June above) is that it probably doesn't add to the usage counts. I'm sorry about that, but I have a particular need to work efficiently so I'm just going to carry on. I won't say I'll be looking forward to storage changes in v3 because your collective groans will probably deafen me! Catherine Murray

I can perfectly understand that this was not possible to do for FF 2.0, but have this been redesigned for FF 3.0 ?
If not, will this be possible in FF 4.0?
Thanks
