The Script components come default with a simple functional script.

Wouldn't it be nice if you could look at any of FF's components and see their code?

This would serve as a self-directed learning approach to the new feature. With a more knowledgeable user-base, there are more quality filters being produced.

There may be limitations on why this can't be done, but I'm up for discussion.

This is technically impossible because our built-in components aren't written in Lua, they're written in C++, and they use a different API than what we expose to Lua.

Our scripting API doesn't support bitmap-based algorithms yet.

Also, an optimized implementation of Gaussian Blur which we use is much more complex and less readable than a naive implementation.
