Would be neat.

Like Extract RGB would take an input and have an output for each color channel. Not many components would use this, but script components could use them too.

FF probably would have done this by now if there wasn't something wrong with it, so... why is it not a good idea?

I agree, the current state of Extract RGB requires 3 nodes which is "visual" but I don't find it a pleasing UI when I have to drag out 3 nodes just to do one thing.

RGB, HSB... are sets. It would make better sense to have 1 node that extracts all channels to separate outputs, not 3 separate nodes which I have to click on to get different channels.

actually, i think there is an explanation waaaaaaay back in the forums somewhere cause i seem to recall asking for the same thing or something very similar.
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

Probably somebody did already. I would only request it again just because it's necessary to have features as such. Smarter interfaces gets us to places faster.
