Adjunct to Filter Library and alternate way to DL filters

One thing I have been requesting since some of the earlier version 1.x releases is a better library manager than the one that has persisted until now. I'd almost give up the notion of a graphic thumbnail manager for something much simpler - the ability to view a sortable list that correlated FF's internal names with their recognizable ones. Often I can remember the approximate name of a filter, while having no idea how it might have been categorized a year or two before. This might prove especially useful in cases where I wanted to perform multiple deletions.

My other request is for an alternate method to download filters. If you refer to my posts in the Windows Bugs section, you'll see I've been through the wringer since the first of the 2.008 versions was released. It doesn't matter whether I try to access filters from the program or use a browser to arrive at the filter download area. In either case, I can't accomplish anything with Firefox, my browser of choice. Why can't you implement a simple HTTP or HTTPS download method that requires a user name and password/serial number. That's essentially what you're doing by directing all filter download requests through the program. It would be a Godsend for users like myself for whom the existing system is broken. Of course these downloads would have to go into the appropriate folder (all it took to migrate all my v1 filters to v2), but that would demand a lot less time and brainpower than I've already expended trying to get the latest ver sion(s) to work.
