I have had an idea that perhaps is crazy, but I will suggest it and see if it would be possible or not, and could be a good or bad thing to make FF better.
Could there be a synchronization between all the filters of the filter forge Library in the website and all the filters found in your own filter library inside the FF software ? Would be possible that in the filters library on the FF website could appear any kind of small icon or identification anywhere to show that you have already downloaded that filter to your own filter forge library inside Filter Forge program ? For this to work, of course, you should be registered in the website and must have bought the Filter Forge software, and perhaps have it open to make the synchronization from the filters you have already in your own library in your hard disk, and the filters that are on the website. So this way when searching and looking for filters in the website filter library you could know very quickly which ones you already have downloaded in your own personal filter forge library inside the program, and so choose to download new ones that you do not have yet. DOWNLOAD FILTERS FASTER ? Now, when you want to download a filter, it puts, "getting the filter list" and it takes some time, and I suppose this is because the website or program does not know if this choosen filter has already been downloaded before or not. (please correct me if I am wrong) So if the filters that you have already downloaded are already registered and synchronized with your account in the filter forge website, it would not need to check every time if you have downloaded it before or not, and so I think it would download the filter faster. DO YOU TRIED TO DOWNLOAD FROM WEBSITE FILTER THAT YOU ALREADY HAVE ??? As there thousands of filters, I am only able to remember the most wonderful, useful, beautiful and marvellous I have found and love, but others that I have downloaded and had not time yet to test and try, I do not remember that I have already downloaded them, so when I find it again in the website filter library, I choose download, and as I already have it in my library it does not download it because I already downloaded them before and do not remember. Even happened to me that this have happened 3 or 4 times with the same filter !! Perhaps I have really bad memory and only remember the ones I have used much, but not ones have used only once or two, although they could very interesting and beautiful, but in that moment I did not know what to use it for, or not had enough time to use it and see how good it really is. |

GMM, Sorry I did not know that it has been already suggested, but now looking at it, it is a very simple suggestion, and I explained it more and have given some possible solution and recomendation on how could be.
Please, GMM: Will it be possible that in the future this feature could be implemented in Filter Forge? Or do you think that it is not interesting or useful? Or perhaps the FF team have much other features to work with for Filter Forge in future versions with a higher priority than this. I think that this could be a very good thing, useful and helpful, but it is up to you if it would be possible to make and you decide if it is worth and how much time and work would it take to make this. |

First, it's not me but Vladimir Golovin who's the decision maker here. Second, it's already implemented in the built-in library browser. Try switching to it on the Online tab in Options, then click the 'Download More Filters' button. |

I really prefer much better the Online Library than the built in library Browser inside Filter Forge.
In the online Library of FF you have instant preview of the filter in a big size and below all the thumbnails of the presets shown and these are NONE available in the built-in browser, at least instantly and in the same way, they must always be rendered in real time, EACH TIME you want to see it. Here I have put some things about the difference between both http://www.filterforge.com/forum/read...5&TID=8939 |
