C'mon now...you guys are obviously not implementing this simple much-needed enhancement just to deliberately keep torturing me... Steve

I guess so... I'll try some sugar instead of salt... ...
Dear Vlad,
You're the best, man!!! Love this program!!! I was thinking that maybe CONTROL LOCKS might be a HUGE help for users as well as authors... Given the number of controls on most filters, CONTROL LOCKS would make it 110% easier to use randomization to zero in on desired results...instead of having to remember settings and go back to change them each time you hit the randomization button. Further, CONTROL LOCKS would make it 110% more efficient to explore a filter in 'high' ramdomization without having to view all the "undesirable" results...which makes it much more time consuming...especially on slow filters... Finally, CONTROL LOCKS wwould be an indispensable tool in isolating problems during filter construction. So in conclusion I believe that this oversight to implement essential CONTROL LOCKS can be easily remedied in the next beta release. Thank you for your time and consideration to CONTROL LOCKS for this program...
How was that, Craig??? lol... Steve

It sure is!!! This feature "should" have come out with the first beta, IMO... I don't know why they have not done it yet...I would think that this would be an easy one to implement... I'm quite sure that FF realizes that randomization is essentially useless without it...given the number of controls on most filters... Steve

Hello!!! McFly!!! No-brainer on this one...and longggggg overdue... Filters have too many controls to have to remember individual control settings...have to write them down...and have to reset them all each time you randomize... Steve

Control Locks? Control Locks!
My word, good Sir, I thank you for mentioning the subject. Many has been the time when I have DESPERATELY wished that such a feature existed especially when working with filters with a large number of variables, as you yourself mentioned in a previous post.
Personally I think it would cut down a lot of 'fiddle' time when trying to find that elusive perfect combination when working with filters, particularly the ones with a kazillion Controls.
So I most heartily echo Morgantao's +100000001.

The "benefits" of this are actually two fold... Not only would you be able to efficiently utilize randomization towards zeroing in on desired results...but you would also be able to use it towards troubleshooting and zeroing in on problems in filter construction...
I think FF is saving this obviously much-needed feature as justification for the release of Filter Forge V8.... Steve
