Will future versions optionally employ the beowulf computing model? Preferably with linux as an option?

One render's processing distributed across multiple machines. This would likely introduce an additional client/server (or nodes concept). This adds to hardware operating costs obviously as it requires multiple machines, very fast switches and whatnot, and more licenses. Node licenses would likely be less costly these machines need not have the design-capability of filter forge but the render-capability.

For the more adventurous developer (you)

* nodes could be connected via the internets, and also not be real time [communication], but delegated

* Amazon EC2 instances could be tasked with rendering

** or Microsoft Azure

This is not a model designed solely for wealthy entities. The beowulf model is appealing to clients with fewer resources as networked nodes need not be premium machines. Amazon and Microsoft have started a one upmanship competition of best free offerings... which might accommodate the workload of the casual user.
microsoft encouraged me to upgrade to linux via W7
