Another nice thing (even though implementation isn't necessarily easy) would be conditional logic. A checkbox, YES/NO, something that gives that ability to switch on the fly without having to generate multiple filters. (I just uploaded a 2D version of the filter I uploaded today. It would have been nice to have a checkbox for "3D Mode" which would have applied the process for generating the bumpmap data.)

You'd be able to do that with a Switch component.

Assign a checkbox to the switch, and have one of the switch inputs as a flat colour and the other the heightmap data. Then pump the switch output into the Height result component and you're set.
