This is the same as mentioned in This Thread:
ISSUE : The searchbox behavior is unfortunately 'Equals' mode. What I mean is if you type 'city', it won't find 'cityscape' (try it). What it should do instead is to check if the filter 'Contains' the keyword. This may not sound like a big deal, and I know it is easy to fix, but it really helps the users. SOLUTION: Basically it should return the results even if it is a part of word. Or may be a combobox to let us choose which. A friend suggested using wildcard. Although that is a good idea, it does not change the fact that it is in the opposite of what I'm asking here. The default behavior should always be: For a typed word such as city the search module should automatically do *city* // * is the wildcard. If someone wants to search for the exact word, they should type "city" I'm asking everyone to try to find this nice 'cityscape' filter. I won't tell you where it is. ![]() ![]() ___________

+1 from me.
I had a similar discussion about a filter named bronzerizer that for some reason wouldn't appear as a search result on some machines when you search for the word bronze, even though the search word is included in the filter name, and also is one of the keywords in the filter. |

I have seen something curious, when looking for the Inujima´s balls filter, I write
orn, orna, ornam, orname, ornamen AND nothing is FOUND !!! Is ONLY when I write ornament that FF know what I am searching for BUT if instead of using the plain word and I use the * wildcard is MUCH BETTER AND MUCH FASTER Just writing or* founds fast already the ornamented balls, and if I write orn* the results appears in the first place. So my recommendation is to use the * wildcard to do a search instead of ONLY part of the word or full word ---------------------------
I do not think that it would be good probably (I am not sure) to have automatic *name* because this could give much more results and take more time to search for ALL the related possible combinations. So is better for you to CHOOSE what you want to use, So now you are free and have the choice to use: city city* *city* "city" ci* cit* cityscape* |

Do you like the combo box idea I mentioned?
That way everyone gets a piece. ___________
