  • HDRI Upload/download Library?
... east to west and vice versa with longitudes. never mind, it always confuses me. ok, i can follow 400 x 200 :D and yes, i do understand you're mapping on a sphere and i'm guessing that's part of why it takes so long to render an .exr into an FF environment. ah, i hadnt considered the warping of light sources on the sphere. i'll bear that in mind the next one i do. so, lighting at the 'equater' is going to warp less. cool :) one other question on this... i've sort of noticed that the central ...

  • Patterned Dithering by inujima
Author: inujima. The result might be better to apply a sharp filter in advance ,or to insert Sharpen component in this filter. In some environments to insert Sharpen component may be the cause of the crash.

  • HDRI or IBL Options
Author: CFandM. Hello Thomas and welcome.. :) Heres one of the threads talking about the importing of the Hdri Environments.. http://www.filterforge.com/forum/read.php?FID=5&TID=4257&MID=42549&sphrase_id=18124#message42549

  • Beta 2 Gallery - Part 2
Author: Totte. Like your gears Carl, I still know where to use them, but not there yet. I made a light version (more brightness in the environment) of the lichened tar paper with needles.

  • 3D Grass Texture by hd8fdkd
Author: Lareieli. Love this! If you turn down the rotation chaos on the bomber (say to about 40), you can also make it look a little more one-directional, like for an isometric environment.

  • Mike's Pixel Adventures!
Author: Mike Blackney. And here's another batch of the pixel art environments, applied to 3d models. I like where they're heading, I want to make a Metal Gear Solid 2 style texture set :D

  • Basic lighting question
Author: ronviers. This should be obvious but why is it that when the checkbox in this filter is ticked there is not a reflection of the environment? In other words, why doesn't a constant height reflect?

  • Carl's Corner :)
Author: StevieJ. You don't think that children become products of their "environments" within which they are raised??? :| Well, I think that some people should never be allowed to be parents.....that's for God-damn sure!!!

  • FF erased one of my saved filters!
Author: StevieJ. I think that this problem lies with FF's "adaptation" programming to the windows environment. Purchasing updated source code from Microsoft would undoubtedly fix this problem.....but would cost big $$$$....

  • New Processing Components: Illumination, Shadow, Reflect
Author: Crapadilla. "MathOrWhat wrote: I don't understand why faked shadows could not do this? " Well they could, but again the color control needed for this would be separate from the lighting/environment controls.

  • 3D Slab-Glass Art....
Author: Kraellin. that took about 25 minutes to render as a lighting environment. i could have cut that time by making the source image smaller, but i used a 400 x 400 of your original image.

  • got a crash after HRDI import
Author: Kraellin. i just got a crash of FF. i had just made a new hdri lighting environment and it worked fine. no problem importing and no problem using this. i had a number of programs open in windows, FF, paint shop pro 10, internet explorer, and windows explorer. so, i was using a LOT of windows resources. after i created ...

  • YinYang by ronviers
Author: ronviers. Also, I have the environment lighting set a little high on the test image so it is difficult to tell but at zero 'dot size' the dots are spherical and at 'dot size' 100 they are completely flat.

  • YinYang by ronviers
Author: Betis. Wow, that is a LOT faster. :D As for the Height slider, Let the Environment settings take care of that. They have their own "Surface Height" Slider. Just remember to tell them about it in the description. ;)

  • The secret plan -- for eyes only
Author: Constantin Malkov. Cool, ThreeDee! This will be very useful. As minimum for environment in 3D projects. Anyway, I hope so. Will the planned version be working with non-square images? P.S. "ThreeDee wrote: (Hey -- where's the snowman?!)"

  • Morph Component
Author: StevieJ. "Sphinx. wrote: I want the most... to be able to work with "layers" in a modular environment" I hadn't though of it like that because of layers in PS.....but that would be an excellent enhancement for FF stand-alone use!!!

  • Easter eggs by Sjeiti
Author: Kraellin. thanks, sjeti. i just think that's cool as hell. and here's an idea for you. take your normal map on this one and save it off as a .jpg and convert it to an environment file in FF.

  • You gotta love all that noise!
Author: Crapadilla. I am continously astonished at FF's ability to produce these immensely complex and naturally chaotic images from two rather simple blended noises, just by the use of naturalistic lighting and environment reflections. Wow!
