  • Carl's Corner :)
Author: ronviers. "StevieJ wrote: You don't think that children become products of their "environments" within which they are raised?" Of course they do. But we are not all dealt the same cards. "StevieJ wrote: should never be allowed" By government?

  • Foxxee's Pearls And Beads by Foxxee
Author: Redcap. "I'm not sure what you mean, Kraellin, when you say it reminds you of the hdri filter environment. Is that a 'good' thing or a 'bad' thing " Well, I have you beat, I have no idea what tagging and tubing means :D

  • Roofing Shingles by Crapadilla
Author: Crapadilla. "StevieJ wrote: Wouldn't it be sweet if FF had a 3D environment to do things like this Wink Smile" No, that's what dedicated 3D applications are much better at... ;) :D I'd rather FF remained in its own area of expertise!

  • New Processing Components: Illumination, Shadow, Reflect
Author: StevieJ. Dilla, I think that something along that line is a really good idea....allowing more customization over existing lighting.....and could allow filters to be submitted with outside HDRIs..... Maybe done under something like an environment profile....

  • Beta 9: Unable to set light color
Author: Sphinxmorpher. There is a problem with the controls when adding a custom light. The color picker control shows, but magically disappears when you try to click it (looks like the environment drop down takes over)

  • Filter update crash
Author: Andres St.. cannot use menu Tools.filterupdates after this it opens small error windows: Task 'form_processing_task'(@0000000000BFC440) already present in environment 0000000000C1AED0. i send you the error report Windows 10 64bit Standalone Filterforge 6.008

  • allow FFENV files in forums
Author: Mongoose King. Has anyone here ever made their own lighting environment in FF? I once found a nice yummy HDRI image I liked, and did HDRI import. After over an hour of it doing it's import thing I got fed up and quit.

  • Filter Forge Filter Lister
Author: Ken. Hi Bella I'm glad it is working now. Onyx. Thanks. I don’t write many programs that require finding files on other PC's I just tried APPDATA and it works great GetAppDataPath = Environ("APPDATA") & "\Filter Forge\System\Library" Thanks for the tip. Ken.

  • JPG to EXR library
Author: Kraellin. the reason i rotated ron's orb picture is because of the light area at the bottom of the filter. rotated back normally, this would have presented horizontal lines in the lighting environment, which would have stayed as a light area along the bottom of the LE.

  • Rock Wall 1 by Kraellin
Author: Kraellin. yup, very useful. take some of the gradients in psp and make a 200 x 200 image. set it to about 100 ppi (pixels per inch) and run it through the importer in FF. can make some pretty cool lighting environments that way.

  • 2023 Environments
Author: CFandM. One of the tweaks that I do with this certain prompt is add a saturated color to it. multiple exposure ICM photo of lights in the city streets, ultra detailed, saturated color, hyper realistic , 55mm Canon Lens, f4.5, stacked photo, HDRI Environment, --ar 2:1

  • Lighting element blank
Author: rachelduim. In FF9 beta on the Mac I saved a new default preset for the attached filter with the "Bridge" as the Environment. If I close FF9 then reopen it, the Lighting element is a blank gray. It can be restored by changing to "Church" then back to "Bridge".

  • YinYang by ronviers
Author: ronviers. I just noticed, that probably would look a little better if I turned down the environment saturation. I wish the queue would clear so I can post the final. FF has not been posting very often lately - I don't know why that is. :(

  • Carl's Corner :)
Author: ronviers. "Beliria wrote: how it picks up the light from the lighting" If you mean the atmosphere filter - notice the location slider - that slider rotates the environment ball top to bottom. "Beliria wrote: Daz3d" It that a modeling package? Does it have a renderer?

  • FF Ultra Pro
Author: onyXMaster. jffe: I don't see how the free filter pack counts as an .8bf export :) Free Packs are feature-limited versions of FF with fixed filters and low-resolution HDRI environments, all of them being protected from modification -- there's no ".8bf export" going on.

  • Filter Forge Filter Lister
Author: onyXMaster. Ken, using the APPDATA environment variable will save you from a whole lot of problems (including Windows not being installed on disk C, user being a member of an Active Directory domain, and other stuff). The path to filters is "%APPDATA%\Filter Forge\System\Library"

  • Brushed Stainless Steel by ronviers
Author: ronviers. I'm not sure I understand the question but users can import their own images into the environment ball for generating custom reflections for their own work. I don't think that answers the question but nothing about this filter is self evident - it's whacked. :)

  • Cast Metal
Author: StevieJ. Thanx :) The only problem with this filter is that I wish it could be put on high randomization to go between lighting environments without the fear of bad areas popping up......which is why I posted my "Steve's Most Wanted" string in the Feature Wishlist catagory.....

  • The Monster
Author: StevieJ. Oh Craig, those are excellent!!! :) :) :) Got me totally curious to how other textures would look......like Vlad's organics and such..... The more I think about this, the more I think of the gaming apps for characters and environments.....in addition to the huge artistic value.....
