  • Copyright question on filters
Author: anna22. Thanks so much Kraellin :) i dont ever rework anyone else's photos or images, just my own work so dont really see a copyright issue problem.

  • Wishlist: store a little image component (Bomber related?)
Author: KGtheway2B. I love the idea- it would be even more sick if you could import vector images (ala genetica). One other possible disadvantage though: The copyright issues with the source images.

  • "All your filter are belong to someone else!"
Author: Kraellin. and one of the other parts that seems to get missed is this issue of who holds the copyrights of a given filter. so, here's the part of the upload agreement that states that:

  • "All your filter are belong to someone else!"
Author: Rawn (RawArt). "StevieJ wrote: I don't have any "texture" filters submitted yet.....but I think FF is giving everyone a golden oportunity to make some money by letting authors keep their preset copyrights.....which is also good incentive to submit good texture filters here.....where FF is doing the marketing and promotions for you " That would be ridiculous! It would be impossible to police and it would discourage interest in FF. To ...

  • Carl's Corner :)
... been offensive.A focus on solving the problem to everyones satisfaction has been diluted by personnel attacks. I'm irritated that certain people in the forum find plagiarism acceptable, I never agreed that by submitting to the library I give away the copyrights to any user to claim copyright. Giving away textures is merely rubbing salt in the wounds credit or not - give away something they create themselves, not others without even the curtsy to see how the author feels about it. Grumpy morning grumble ...

  • Ask your questions about Ultraforge!
... think we, humans, do the same thing as well. Haven't you learned how to do something by looking at other's work? Or take inspiration by checking ArtStation? Or use an image you found online as a background on one of your projects without checking its copyright? AI does the same, just faster. At the moment, at least we are protected by the fact AI artwork can't be copyrighted. The sad truth is those not using AI at companies will be left behind, so, as a friendly advice, I recommend you ride the wave ...

  • Painterly Effects by ScaryKitty
Author: ScaryKitty. NOTE: all these images are copyright Kat Strieby (me!), both the the original photos (exept for preset 9, which is from a photo my husband took of me) and the "artistic" results. :D Preset 15:

  • Use Of Own Filters?
Author: Vladimir Golovin. Yep, you're the copyright holder, so you can use the .bmp's you created with FF -- like you would use the photos you create with your camera.

  • Upcoming EULA changes, round 3
... undercutting this program.....but it's not stopping FF from offering a demo and access to the filter library online, right??? ;) :) The incentives are that an author and their work get exposure.....by which they can get hired or have their filter copyrights purchased from them by people who are conducting straight reputable business...... For example, if Constantin had not submitted quality filters, then Fred (Sign Guy) would not have seen his work and hired him.....so I think the benefits ...

  • Light version of FF and comercial FF filters
Author: Presidio. No Vlad it was the graphics community- the music industry jumped on later- but it was the graphics artists that started it. ((I was there))((Proud)) That unfortunatly is your target audience and they are tough on copyrights. But you can use that to your advantage by offering a real choice other then don't use the product (cause they won't). You could always put a 30 day test on it and you'll see it won't hurt the business- it will just get rid of any ill feelings ...

  • More questions on legal uses of FF output?
Author: Bill Roach. Thank you my very new friend:" #1 Please feel free to use any Filter Forge textures and effects in non-commercial as well as commercial purposes. Filter authors hold the copyright to the filter files proper (.ffxml files), while the copyright to the final images rendered in Filter Forge belongs to the end user, i.e. you. #2 Your untended use is permitted by the EULA. #3 It's up to you because the final images ...

  • Usage of copyrighted photos, and about Copyright and/or Royalty free
Author: Carl. whoops Ok looks like I've started another sh*tstorm, ironically Sr you made this into a thread, where my motive was to subtly suggest without pointing a finger that you didn't post copyrighted material, by your posts in this thread suggest a naivety rather than a evil criminal mastermind ;) ......... you have posted numerous examples of watermarked pics, other pic which are less obvious such as Juan Lopez Ortiz art which is c/red ...

  • Be able to import AND EMBED images inside the filter and submit to FF
Author: CFandM. One big problem I can see with that is copyrights.....FF would have to police all those filters or deal with take down notices.....It would be just a big headache IMHO............

  • Gallery Questions
Author: Vladimir Golovin. I think both are fine, but please no overkill with the signature and ads. When submitting, chose not to add the copyright notice, as your image will already include one.

  • Dilla Challenge!!! :)
Author: StevieJ. Nope.....then it would be a copyright enfingement upon your filter :D LOL.... I have alterior/selfish motives for this post......I want to learn how to do sometyhing like that too..... ;) :D

  • 8bf FF Version
... until they get the program rewards that they want, then leave..... IMHO, skilled author submissions are the "life-blood" of this program.....thus my strong opinion to implement those proposed new EULA restrictions. Leaving the EULA with no copyright restrictions only helps a negligable percentage of texture resellers.....when protecting author's copyrights is tantemount and crucial to the future of this program......

  • Upcoming EULA changes, round 3
... filter I like, then I play with the settings I don't use the randomizer to generate new filters at all to make texture packs. How does this come under the new EULA, and do I have to pull the packs I have made, I want to know now, I have never broken copyright rules ever and I am not about to begin now. Also would it not be prudent to change the terms for all filters at the discretion of the filter maker on how they want this filter to be used, I would not mind paying a one of fee to use a filter,...

  • 2 Free Filter Forge Environment HDRI's
Author: Biomechanic. That's a good point Jffe, no, incidentally I don't work for Sachform, just own HDRIBase 1 & 2, honestly, never even gave copyright a thought I'm sure if this is a problem, this post will be removed...

  • Our Private Filter Library
... our own blog or website where in order to use it you have to register as a member. Only people who have 5 or more HU can register. Once registered you can submit filters for others registered users to use. Unlike FF website though, these filters are copyrighted, meaning no editing of the filter (unless with concent to use it to guide the creation of another filter), absolutley no submitting to Filter Forges website, no direct resail of any renders. We would use the filters as they were intended to ...

  • Carl's Corner :)
... this. Does deviantART own my art? The Submission Agreement explicitly states that you, as the original artist, retain any and all rights appropriate to your artwork at all times. These rights include, but are not limited to, the full and exclusive copyrights to your original artwork. By agreeing to the Submission Agreement what you are really doing is granting deviantART the basic permissions we need in order to display, showcase, and make your artwork available to viewers using the various on-site ...
