  • The Monster
... into and across these various effects to keep control redundancy down. thus, you get 144 switch positions available plus all the various controls to multiply those 144 effects into variations, plus it's a surface filter giving you all the hdri lighting environment controls, plus, by using my own custom lighting environments you get even more effects. so, that gives you some idea of why i call it 'the monster' and why i havent released it, as yet :D and steve, i dont know, without the 'tease factor' ...

  • Missing features
Author: STEPH08. (I agree with everything you say) The strongest point so far is that it's a standalone app, which is very important if you want to work in a safe environment / offline. I don't know if it's possible to train the AI on a private pool of images, I hope so.

  • Cow Dung by Totte
Author: Sharandra. Haha ok, I see. It came up in a search for something entirely different and I just found it great that someone actually thought of making this as a filter :D I´m so gonna use it somewhere in my environment. I´ll make a cow meadow without cows for it :P :D

  • Carl's Corner :)
Author: Ambrosia. yes I had. I un-installed it and reinstalled it. Finally, I hate it : ) idk how PC apps work though.. which file is it ? I have a bin, plugin, ressourse, environment and preview folder, and nowhere I see something that looks like an app at, they look like documents

  • JPG to EXR library
... into PFM/EXR formats (or floating-point TIFF if you love exotic things :)), you will get a proper HDRI image (well, the contrast won't be 6000:1 like on some proper sunlit nature HDRIs, but it's a lot better). And please, do share quality imported environments (.ffenv files, located in "%APPDATA%\Filter Forge\My Environments") -- it will save other people a lot of time. I'm not sure if current upload limit will permit uploading resulting .ffenv files, but I'm sure you can poke Vlad on ...

  • And I Thought Rendering Times Were Slow...
Author: Mark321. Hi everyone, I've been learning "HOW" to import HDR images for the "environments" and while I'm currently importing an image (1000px X 1000px, which is one quarter the file size allowed) it is taking a LOOOOONNNNNGGG time. Is this normal? Mark

  • Will Adobe require a new certification for QUALITY plugins for CS6?
Author: Skybase. lol I think FilterForge is seriously better than Pixel Bender as a development environment. There's no way this program will get turned down. Here's a test: pick a filter from the editor's picks and rewrite the entire thing using pixel bender. ;) I'm sure its doable.

  • Forcing Beta Update
Author: GMM. There is little to be said about this: We never access your computer without your permission. Using a beta software in a production environment is a bad idea. There is a reason for beta versions to expire. There is a reason for us not to disclose all the details.

  • 3D Mesh Environment
Author: StevieJ. Vladimir, I read your post on depth of textures and photos. I was wondering if FF has considered creating a 3D sub-environment to create 3D level/tone/color mesh maps (3D wire maps) to attain that depth in textures and photos?

  • HDRI Upload/download Library?
... single image. And yes I mean't the finished images they could be in either the exr or the pfm format and be ready to import into FF for anyone with the patience. :) On your last paragraph I got the first two references but the third "hdri environments for the surface lighting environment"? Not quite sure what your referring to on that reference. Side note; at first I had found a free utility for converting jpegs into exr's. Which is how I experimented with it the first time. ...

  • 2023 Environments
Author: CFandM. One more that I use is this one..... passage and blind in the middle of a lake during a very sunny day, ultra detailed, saturated colors, hyper realistic, HDRI Environment, --ar 2:1 One of the results from the above in DeepAi. You can also exchange saturated colors for bright colors.

  • Why FF inc. publish an unusable beta3 on friday and blocks beta2 ?
Author: CFandM. "GMM wrote: I wonder why anyone would use any beta software in a production environment. Guys, this is a beta! It's meant for a specific circle of users who enjoy finding bugs in software, not complaining of them! " +1 ;) :) Thanks for the fix...Gmm  Some beer for you as well... :)

  • CorvusCroax's Junkyard
Author: CorvusCroax. Here's a failed pipe-experiment. Trying to use the uber pipes method w/ the new Beta 2.0 environment. Problems: 1) no branching 2) all kinds of alignment issues (the collars don't align correctly w/ corner bits 3) discontinuity in how pipes connect, and silly closed loops. :?: need a breakthrough aha moment.

  • Cartoon Stone 2 by BenBeckwith
Author: BenBeckwith. :) I did this one initially just to see how well I could fake a 3D environment. Then the 2.0 submissions started rolling in and I wanted to play. Most of my 2.0 filters still require a lot of polish and cleanup to be submitted so I finished this one instead! :-p

  • My Crystal Balls :)
Author: StevieJ. I credit you with getting me to figure out how to make a single "3D Crystal Ball".....which I just posted a string with sample..... This has me thinking of ways to "trick" the 2D into 3D environments.....all kinds of neat things could be created.....

  • Can you smell it too?
... Vladimir Golovin. "Crapadilla wrote: And doesn't the new OSX natively support windows applications?" No, it doesn't. Intel-based Macs can run Windows via Bootcamp but they can't execute Mac and Windows code simultaneously within the Mac OS X environment as Bob Cringely speculated earlier.

  • Messages from Foxxee
... would play such an involved game like this on a multiplayer basis. one single game in single player can take weeks to play, so how in the world would you govern your faction and guard against all the things that can happen in this game in a multiplayer environment where folks are coming and going from an online environment all the time. heh, i've no clue and not quite ready to explore that yet. but it is a bit of a curiousity and i'll eventually check it out if for no other reason than to see how they're ...

  • User friendly filter creation interface
Author: Vladimir Golovin. GMM, comparing FF and FM is a bit like comparing apples and oranges (a scripting environment and a node-based system). Obviously, a visual editor is more user-friendly than a script-based toolkit, but I'd still like to hear more about "stumbling points" of FF's editor from a beginner's point of view.

  • Countries by Skybase
Author: Betis. Of course, of course. Hey, try to make the water have it's own environment map without making it a surface filter, I bet that'd be neat. Clouds too. Look at my Galaxy Explorer filter for a start, I have no doubt you could optimize and customize it to your liking. :D

  • Brushed Stainless Steel by ronviers
... The effectiveness of this filter can be extended by importing an appropriate image to provide lighting. For example, I renamed a 1200x600 version of this image from abSm.jpg to abSm.exr and used the FF Tools>HDRI Import menu option to add it to the environment ball library.
