  • Live Crop
Author: BLUEFROG. 1. Seamless tiling is "for a niche crowd"? :?: BTW, I work in an environment where salespeople actually use seamlessness in our artwork as a selling point! 2. This isn't about resizing, it's about allowing the User to dynamically use subsections of an image as the basis for seamless tiling without having to destructively ...

  • Has anyone built a Median Filter for FF1?
Author: Vladimir Golovin. "fisholith wrote: I'm currently only interested in a 3x3 median, and it's not especially important how fast it is." Why don't you just code it up in any graphic environment that supports scripting, perhaps Processing or GIMP/GLuas? If the speed is not important, implementing a fixed-radius Median with no optimizations would be very easy.

  • Specular
....filterforge.com/more/help/Components/ServiceComponents/Result.html) "The Metallic parameter indirectly defines the reflection color of the surface (specular color). Dielectrics don't change the reflection color, so it is determined by the lighting environment only. Metals, on the other hand, colorize the reflection with Surface Color."

  • Carl's Corner :)
.....is that a bikini wax??? ***cough***" i'll voluteer to wax it! :D and re your philisophical discussion, i'd say it's not so much 'environmental' (which is really a cop-out excuse and doesnt take into account man's hurt on man. the whole 'environment is responsible for all' is bull crap.) as it is human nature with a heavy grunge filter applied :D

  • Carl's Corner :)
Author: Kraellin. no, ron, i havent. as i recall, the recommendations for the lighting environments was 400 x 200. this is quite a bit off that. i suppose i could trim it, though :) still, this started as a high res image. i cut it down for posting here, but cutting it down to 400 x 200... that's cutting things pretty close to the quick....

  • Planetary Noise Snippet V1 by ThreeDee
... Nothing to do with HDRI (high dynamic range image). " ----Hmm. O.k., but theoretically, couldn't you just swap out the Perlin Noie or whatever, and put an image input, and use it to to do spherical mappings for HDRI lighting type stuff, like the 7 environments that are included with FF ? jffe

  • FF Ultra Pro
Author: Crapadilla. "Bella wrote elsewhere: Also, we would have to pack the HDRI lighting environments into every 8bf, which would increase its size to at least 12 Mb; and we cannot do it anyway because the HDRIs are licensed from Sachform and we cannot distribute them except as part of Filter Forge. • startup difficulties
Author: onyXMaster. Hello! Is it possible that you have your temporary files folder (specified TEMP and/or TMP environment variables) on a device that is currently not available? We will include additional critical error handler in next beta release so the errors will be more specific, but maybe the problem is just with temp folder location?

  • Anyone Crashed Lately?
Author: Adu. I have always ran Filter Forge along side Photoshop CS3 and Paintshop Pro 7 and also with a few internet windows open and also a virtual environment open with no issues. My issue started a few days ago. I cannot even open it now by itself. Could it be due to a bad Windows update? Should I just uninstall and reinstall?

  • Cross Weave by ronviers
Author: ronviers. Thank you CFandM. That's a good idea. I have been doing something similar with my Add Atmosphere filter but instead of using black I multiply orthogonal gradients, which causes the environment sphere to land evenly (somewhat) on the image plane. I found an effect that is faster but more distorted using this method:

  • My wishlist
... all! I found the problem after reading Kraellin's post. I could not see the "apply" nor the "cancel" buttons on the bottom as they were covered by my task bar. After hitting apply, the effect was indeed applied right into the PSP environment and PSP does recognize the filter as "last applied filter" now :)

  • Germatopia by Orteil
....wikipedia.org/wiki/Horton_Hears_a_Who! BUT instead of a "who" he put Halophile :D I did not know that a Halophile is the following :D http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halophile Halophiles are extremophile organisms that thrive in environments with very high concentrations of salt. The name comes fr om the Greek for "salt-loving" as they need the salt to live. Please Indigo Ray correct me if I am wrong. "Indigo Ray wrote: "Green Eggs and Salmonella"" ...

  • Beta phase must be ending very soon
Author: xirja. Seeing some of the new filters, it must be nearing time for official release! :) Some new HDRI environment maps? http://www.filterforge.com/filters/11760.html Ooh Origami! http://www.filterforge.com/filters/11750.html How did you do this waffling one below? Two transformed polygons I suppose?

  • Beta 2 Gallery - Part 2
... don't mean to make pokes about people or anything... but can FilterForge seriously consider closing "ancient threads" to avoid timeless bumps? I swear, I really don't mean to point fingers but some bumps aren't healthy for an active forum environment.

  • Add Atmosphere (non-square) by ronviers
... submitted another one with presets that account for the differences in lighting between this one and the original. I hope that you will find more of them appealing – I left preset one intact. This is one of those filters that could benefit from more environments. Thanks for checking it out. :)

  • Suggest a new filter.
Author: DJI. Thanx SpaceRay & Ramlyn. :D The filter should appear in the library Monday. And Ramlyn,I did do some tinkering about with lighting & Environment etc. in a few of the presets but it really diden't change the phenomena I'm speaking of. :) I've made 10 more presets and I'll post that source file when the filter is posted. :D Thanx everyone for all of your comments. Over and out. :) ;)

  • allow FFENV files in forums
Author: Morgantao. FFENV files are lighting environment files, or HDRI maps. In the lighting tab of the preset settings you have the Church, Entrance day\night, lobby, etc. maps that give different lighting results.
