Filter has an update - on the UI click Tools > Filter Update and select the filter. The update allows you now to move the splatter placement and has a soft choice for the base paint.

Author: James. Yeah i agree, although sadly i doubt there will ever be anything changed to give users copyrights to those images they submit or stop direct re-selling of textures as this would have already happened a long time ago. I still hope things change with this also though.

If I use Photoshop to apply a layer effect to create a texture that I then offer for sale, Adobe has no requirement that I cannot claim a copyright or that I should announce that the work was created using Photoshop and with code that was written by whomever. If I use Alien Skin or Genetica to generate a tile, there is no complaint when I publish and claim copyright to my rendering. But ...

... their filter work. I think alot of authors would if FF made it easy for them to do by offering "storefronts" as a reward level beyond the copy rewards.....
I am thoroughly convinced that the combination of the new EULA (creating tangible copyrights) and Storefront reward level (providing an easy way for authors to sell their copyrights) would continuously bring in waves of new authors, drastically increase the number and quality of filter submissions, and keep authors here doing it......

There was a discussion on imported bitmap some time ago. Imported bitmaps ruin resolution independence and bring copyright problems. Maybe the solution would be to allow this for user's filters only, not for the Library.

Well, since that technique worked already in Photoshop 3.0 the copyright on it has probably expired by now ;)
But as you can see my version of it is not yet perfect - there's the ugly hard edge in the circular and spiral blur and it would be nicer if the mapping continued also in the four corners.
