There are several commercial filters such as Topaz and some online tutorials and actions that can create Pseudo-HDR images. I used ideas from some of the tutorials to try to come up with my own versions of fake HDR.

I like the system they have set up at worth1000.com where the winner of each competition is obliged to write a tutorial (format and forms provided by worth1000) of exactly how they made the winning entry. These tutorials are then gathered together and published as books. This would provide an additional revenue stream as well as helping to improve the documentation ...

... promising but I wouldn't bother with it. It'll be a huge waste of time dealing with it since the xml file's easy to understand to begin with. You'd rather spend the time just filling in the gaps appropriately in each element.
Does cmd line render need a tutorial after all? I'm getting the sense that having a basic tutorial on this would make life a bit easier.
I still vote for the feature anyway. But if it won't happen then I'll work with what I have.

Selling is small reward for effort creators put in. As example I recorded hungreeds of tutorials (www.geekatplay.com) they free, but check google for geekatplay search word, you will find many pages with links to wirez sites that have those free tutorials ripped, some of them even manage selling them.

I think this is partially due to the fact that one of the most common and easiest to follow tutorials for FF is the "Wet rocks" texture tutorial. :-) I admit that rocks were not my first, but rather my second filter designed.
