Render Usage and License Terms

It means I can't use ANY filters that have been made by someone else because they *might* at some later date decide that they don't want the renders output by those filters to be used.
I *have* read that the copyright to renders belongs to the person who renders the images, not the filter author. But that will not help if a filter author decides to issue a DMCA takedown and the admins of wherever that render is being used decide not to argue (which they usually ...

... I think we have one or two owners of Maxwell in the forum, and I would be interested to see the response if an incentive was extended to the forum for submitting original high quality HDRIs. I see the only difficulty would be people trying to submit copyrighted HDRIs, but there has to be a way to prevent this I imagine.

That's exactly what they plan to do.....I can't remember where, but Vlad clearly stated that the new EULA is going to allow authors the "option" of placing straight result copyright restictions in the filter description.....

I would suggest looking at FF as a marketing tool by which to promote and get exposure for your work.....and a means to put them out there in front of people who would be willing to purchase copyrights from you..... :devil:

Dilla, according to our Upload License, YOU are the copyright holder, and the copycat has just blatantly claimed ownership. I am not a lawyer, but I believe you can DMCA (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Millennium_Copyright_Act) the hell out of them.

... of Use" or not.....impossible to enforce.....who is to say that a user, who rips images from website, didn't get/buy them from someone with a legitimate copy of FF.....
That's why it makes alot more sense to give authors "tangible" copyrights to those images and let them protect them.....and take advantage of it here.....IMHO..... ;)

IMHO, this is the biggest misuse of Filter Forge. None users of Filter Forge are able to run off with our textures and sell them with their copyright on them. Filter Forge owners and the community at large suffer from this abuse of the filter gallery. :cry:

The filters authors create the keywords when they create the filters..
When you do that manually a new instance of the filter is created and saved to your "My Filters" folder which is why you loose that ...

Share-it appears to be a German based company, and Filter Forge is it's sub (I didn't read all the way through, whether it's a subcontractor or subsidiary) in any case, they're under the share-it's umbrella.
