  • Submission Error
Author: Bella. Crapadilla, are you quite sure this is the filter you were trying to submit? The thing is this filter contains a user-imported environment (HDRI file), and such filters aren't accepted into the Library. You should have seen this on the second page of the Submit Wizard as a "problem with the filter". In all probability, you couldn't have seen the error message. You should ...

  • Mouse scroll doesn't work in app?
... an answer to this but am unable to find anything. For the past couple of days, I have been unable to get the mouse scroll to work at all in Filter Forge. I could have sworn it worked in the past, and just recently it has stopped all together. Environment: Windows 8.1 64 Photoshop CC FilterForge 4.013 Professional I am not having any issues with the mouse in any other application, just in FF4. Thank you.

  • The Disquisitions of Betis
... having other things placed and lit by it. It has Direct Lighting, Ambient occlusion, fake GI, traced reflections, and shadows; things that the current final surface node either lacks or is slow to compute. Has the ability to use internally generated environments for shading, and because it's a node (group), you can continue the filter after processing through it.

  • The Disquisitions of Betis
Author: Betis. In reality, you have to have a full 3D environment and 3D Map for the light to bend around. With 2D images, you cant blur the foreground and see behind it, like you can in real life. If you have already downloaded my filter and the two images: http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp90/profbetis/mountains_ter_depth....

  • Collapsing Nodes?
Author: bemused0. Just to jump in on the dual monitor's topic. All of the artists in our studio use dual monitors (Environment guys, Texture, Character, Animators, and even a couple of the programmers). I'd say we all consider dual monitor support a fairly important option, but definitely not a deal breaker--especially not on version 1.0. If I could break off ...

  • Would be possible to make filter to fill colors inside enclosed shape?
... ThreeDee. I believe we've covered this before: It is possible with scripting, but due to FF being procedural, not pixel-based, it will be extremely inefficient -- hundreds, perhaps thousands of times more inefficient than in a pixel-based programming environment where one can give new values to pixels as you go. With FF you have to either use large tables to store the intermediate results and risk running out of memory or do thousands of redundant calculations for the same pixels and risk running ...

  • Photo FreakShow#6 ( Wavy Nightmares) by DJI
Author: DJI. The reason I use the surface result on a lot of my filters yet turn off the surface height itself is simple. I use it in order to have access to the lighting environment.also in this particular filter even the slightest bit of surface height gives the image a dark and grainy appearance streaked with deep lines. This is not what I want for a portrait filter. Now this my not be the way the "PROFESSIONALS" ...

  • Crash at startup
... send me by private message) your "set" command output? I'm still wondering why FF2.x fails to start on your PC... I've found the procedure in our code where it happens, but I still can't understand why. It looks like your TMP (or TEMP) environment variable is set to wrong value or that folder has no enough permission.

  • Messages from Foxxee
... you want me to send you something so you can give me details of how to upload? i was hoping you'd just have an upload button i could press, like when loading a picture here on the forums and that i could then just browse my files and send the lighting environments that way. i'm guessing you just need an email from me so you can see me the details, yes?

  • Stable Diffusion (in Photoshop)
Author: Photoscena. hi, For anyone interested in using AI image generation in a hosted environment, take a look at Concept.art. • How to make comments in the editor?
... use color controls like so." That is also a good idea for short notes and directions. The color coding can take on a meaning. Still I hope that a proper way of commenting will be in the next update. It seems really basic to me. Every programming environment I know has it :-) Also it would be nice to be able to draw colored outlines around specific groups of components, to show that they belong together. Often Groups can't be used for that purpose, as a Group can have only 1 output.

  • Possible to have in filter editor different link colors components?
Author: Skybase. Actually in all honesty the better idea for organization is doing stuff like you see in UDK's Kismet. I know the environment is different but it's almost like the same thing. Kismet tends to become very disorganized after a very short period of time so here's a solution http://www.victoriaclemente3d.com/resources/SproutKismet%20copy.png The latest version ...

  • just some odd images here and there
... cases. some of the selector types use noise gradients and you can only truly control one color in those. so, some will be a bit tricky to smooth down. the height control will help. i made this a surface type because i wanted to be able to use custom environments with this.

  • Importing your own greyscale images to use as noise patterns
Author: Kraellin. oh, that's a good idea (if i'm understanding you correctly). you want to import your own images INTO the components themselves, not just as an image to be worked on, much the same way we can import lighting environments? so, you could do your own internal bump map/noise maps within the noise components? that would also work on other components... lots of other components. that would be slick! customized components! oooohhh, that could open all sorts of ...

  • FF should go dark - everyone's doing it
... darkened a bit without too much jarring contrast. (Maybe let users specificity a shade and get some feedback?) Of course eventually you'd want to re-skin the components for a thorough dark look. I feel that the area outlined almost a separate environment. It has it's own look that is already distinct from other areas of the program. Thus even if this section remains unchanged it won't necessarily feel inconsistent with newly darker elements.

  • Reflection dots
... showing what happens to see these reflections dots? So it would be easier to help you something you may try is to change also some of the lighting settings in the lighting tab and see if this can help, and also you can choose to use a different environment (HDRI) as this will change the reflections of the filter Also it depends on what you are feeding into the height link of the result component

  • Group Filter # 1
Author: Kraellin. cool :) nah, only one rule about hdri. use whatever you like except custon environments. i'm also open to rule changes. i wanted to limit how many changes and additions one person would do at a time to keep one person from just making a totally finished filter. no real point in allowing that. that way it forces each participant ...

  • Lighting element controls: Lamp/environment components
Author: Borkus McJorkus. This has perhaps already been suggested as "Ability to set parameters of lighting controls and include with filter controls." I'm thinking specifically of lamp angle/zenith inputs, though color would be important, too. An Angle control could lead to both a light component and a Smudge angle input, and this could simulate hard shadows, as explored here (https://www.filterforge.com/forum/read.php?FID=10&TID=10205). Maybe these concepts could be combined into a single...
