  • Steve's Most Wanted :)
... horizon, and low detail would take care of that problem..... Personally, I would do cartwheels and handstands if I could just have full control over lighting parameters.....so I could set a high randomization level to switch between all the lighting environments, cut out all the bad areas in each environment, and have every randomized effect be good.... I think the current set up relies too heavily on the user already knowing that most filter's access to different lighting environments is thru ...

  • Foxxee's Stone Engraver by Foxxee
Author: Kraellin. well, the problem with surface filters and lighting is actually the HDRI environments. they are not based on the source image one imports, so you get skewed lighting and therefore skewed height control. according to Ron Hubbards "Art" book (you can get this at amazon.com), there are actually eight different ways ...

  • Carl's Corner :)
Author: Kraellin. ok, i see where we're disagreeing or not quite lining up here. 'environment' can have several meanings. i was taking it as just the physical environment, like the land, sea, weather and so on. you're taking it as including people. so, ok, with that in mind, then sure, there are influences from environment, always....

  • Submission Error
Author: Crapadilla. I just copyied the files from my backup HD into the C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data\Filter Forge\My Environments folder, as I created them on another machine and with another version (1.002 I think) some time ago. Edit: I rechecked. Actually they reside in "C:\Program Files\Filter Forge\Environments" and not in "C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application ...

  • New AI Gen Environments
Author: ValhaIIa. Sorry for being gone so long, I had no clue how bad the depression I am dealing with is. Last paragraph for the important info. Anywho, I came across my next love, text to image recently and can get awesome environments by simply explaining what I want. I've generated a couple hundred images that I still need to convert into FFENVs using prompts like desert landscape hdri environment, high-quality, artistic, unique, award-winning photography, dynamic lighting,...

... on it, including some filter forge filters which i thought i had lost. on copying this filter over to the new install of filter forge on this machine and then trying to upload it to the library, i got a bug during the submission about having custom environments in the filter. i have no custom environments on this new install, but some of the presets might have still been recognized as having had some. i also get this same message about custom environments when i call up the filter for use and ...

  • Props to FF Team! HDRI import + AO map
Author: CorvusCroax. Hmm... I guess I must have missed those. Actually I probably never realized you could load HDRI environments b/c it's up in the menu>tools. • Noise Lab
Author: Kraellin. ah, good rough plaster, though you've got a bit of clipping in this one. still, that's covered by the fact it's plaster and the trowel simply smoothed that part :) ok, here's my work environment via a screenshot. notice the custom lighting environment and how it affects the effect. this is another aspect of these noise generators that shld be stressed; they are a great way to look at and understand how surface filters work and how ...

  • posting environments
Author: Kraellin. it would be nice if there was a place on the forums (or on the site if it's not possible to do in the forums) to be able to post our own hand made environments. since the file size on the forums is only 500k and most environments are well over that, i suppose it would have to be at least a separate sub-forum, if the individual forums can have their own file size limit, or somewhere else on the site....

  • FFCmdRenderer Bug FF 9
Author: QueenKellee. Update to this. I tested a workaround fix by dropping a copy of the Resources folder with CurvePresets.xml inside into the Applications folder and it worked. BUT I ran into another issue. It's also looking for the environments folder in that same pathway. Simple filters worked but not 3D filters. So I also dropped a copy of the Environments folder with all it's contents into the Applications folder and that worked. To summarize: -FFCmdRenderer is looking for ...

  • Follow-up of Previous Bug Reports
... out that this isnt just a few filters we're talking about, this is several thousand, loading in maybe a thousand at a time and testing that. i've now completed that operation and all filters are working... mostly. filters that were using a custom environment arent working right due to the custom environments not existing in FF2 and you cant zoom and unzoom the main render window. you just get a notice saying the custom environment is missing. and that led to a new bug, not reported yet by me....

  • Please, how to batch render with command líne all presets of filter ?
... it works. What i still wanted to test, to leave the original presets at 20 pieces, but to overwrite them. Then i noticed that an overwrite (in the system folder) is not possible. At least not via Filter Forge. Furthermore i tried to use my own HDRI environments. 1 filter in the user defined folder with several presets, one of them with own HDRI environment. As soon as a preset contains such one the message appears in all tasks: "Some of lighting enviroments required for this filter are missing....
