  • How will EULA effect usage?
.... On one hand, the new EULA will put a major dent in people rendering out straight texture results and reselling them in texture packs without author permission.....especially at reputable sites who do not want to be operating in violation of any copyright restrictions...... On the other hand, the new EULA will allow authors to feel much better about submitting quality texture filters in knowing that they can restrict and protect straight results from being resold in texture packs.....thereby ...

  • FF Ultra Pro
Author: StevieJ. LOL.... That's why I've been "screaming" at FF for the new EULA and storefront reward levels.....for FF to compete with Fred and others.....instead of giving copyrights away so Fred and others can undermine the need to buy this program..... Please take no offense, Fred.....but my sole intent is to see this program be extremely successful.....so the program will continue to be enhanced to help my own work....

  • "All your filter are belong to someone else!"
... well.....and I think you're misunderstanding what I'm saying..... I want FF to "clearly" protect filter code and preset images (just like Vlad stated on the first page of this string) so redistribution would be in violation of an author's copyrights and illegal.....thus my suggestion to amend the EULA" I understand that, but that would not have any effect on already licensed users. It is certainly a path that could be taken with future license grants although I don't think it could ...

  • "All your filter are belong to someone else!"
Author: Genie. That is how I read it, from the very beginning. Authors only have their FILTERS copyrighted. Not presets, or resulting images. And they gave their complete consent to this, so one can´t really blame users for using them commercially. This as always been quite clear to me. But people are going in circles on this. What IS is,...

  • For Rod_D_How do you make the PHF Photofonts ?
... "Morgantao wrote: How do you rewrite an 8bf plugin!?" I think that if you know how to program a plugin, you will also be able to rewrite one that is already available. Although if it is commercial you could problems with the company and the copyright, but probably as this is a FREE plugin and is not done for earning money it could be possible if you know what to do and how to do it.

  • "All your filter are belong to someone else!"
Author: StevieJ. .....which is why I'm suggesting that FF re-write the EULA to state this...... "AUTHORS ARE THE COPYRIGHT HOLDERS TO THEIR FILTER'S CONSTRUCTION AND CORRESPONDING PRESET IMAGES.....WHICH CAN NOT BE COPIED AND RESOLD "UNALTARED WITH NO CREATIVE INPUT" WITHOUT EXPRESSED WRITTEN AGREEMENT OR CONSENT FROM THE AUTHOR OF SAID FILTERS." ...

  • "All your filter are belong to someone else!"
... enough ? " Ummm...no, thats not a better example....that makes no sense at all A filter is designed to be used as a filter....and derivative works of that filter are allowed to be used as an artist sees fit. My artwork is artwork, fully copyrighted and has no clause for being allowed to be used to create derivative work. ApplesOranges

  • "All your filter are belong to someone else!"
... current reward system in order to keep talented authors submitting quality filters here.....otherwise, talented authors will only do enough to get the program and leave...... How about making a choice between these two??? A) Protect author's copyrights to filter construction and preset images.....and a library that grows with exemplary filters for you to use..... or..... B) Have no restrictions on filter use.....and a library that grows with only mediocre and sub-optimal filters for ...

  • Light version of FF and comercial FF filters
Author: jffe. Here's an idea for filters and the whole copyright debate, an option for filter creators to apply a *lock*. Ie = the filter creator can choose to offer the filter for use, but it can be locked, so that no one can open it up and reverse engineer or modify it, and the controls are all grayed out ...

  • Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Pink Sliders...
... true that you are seizing all the pink sliders in the world so you can sell them back ridiculously overpriced to ahimsa, craig, steve and carl?" "Dilla answers: Perfectly true. First, I started a heated discussion over some ridiculous copyright issues to avert their attention, then - while they were discussing themselves silly - I took all the pink sliders from them. Furthermore, I have kidnapped a well-known scientist, and I'm blackmailing him to create the ultimate uberPINKSLIDER ...

  • Filter Forge no longer appears as plug-in
... sense to most as you load "Adobe PhotoShop 2022" as the program" Up till now I do not recall seeing anything on my computer that referred to Photoshop by year. Not strictly true, as on the current version's load screen it does display Copyright 1990 - 2021, which confuses things more, since we are referring to Photoshop 2022. However, after reading your post, I did discover that by hoovering my mouse pointer above the Ps icon on my computer desktop, it actually shows the words "Adobe ...

  • We've launched the Filter Forge Gallery
... doesn't work) - or both. But these methods are far from watertight. Why go through all that trouble when people can easily download all incoming files with something as simple as Firebug (http://getfirebug.com/). As Vladimir pointed out, a small copyright notice would suffice. If you feel it doesn't: just don't upload to the gallery.

  • Upcoming EULA changes, round two
... to the selling site or the author the pack is removed, that imo is a must. Edit - And i think if it comes down to 2 people selling if the original creator is trying to sell or put online for free they should automatically have the edge/control/say copyright wise

  • Anyone here use Zazzle?
Author: meyendlesss. Zazzle seems to be pretty good about copyright violations... If you put up something that's not yours and the creator can prove it the item will be removed (I don't know that from experience... my stuff is my own, but I've been reading around their forums). As far as exposure goes I've ...

  • (attachment thread)
Author: Kraellin. maya, yes.... one of these days :) you're welcome. and whereas i dont think anyone would mind if i posted some of those images here, i've yet to ask and i'd rather go that route than start a feud on copyrights and etiquette and that sort of thing. oh, and perhaps you know this person... he goes by 'olbaldy' on retouchpro. he said he's seen your work on worth1000 and ... hmm, let me just post his quote: "Tis a small world indeed.. I first ...

  • Use Of Filters?
... sublicense the filter to our sub-licensees (Filter Forge users) which we do in the EULA. So, the short answer is yes, you can use the Filter Library filters for commercial or non-commercial purposes as long as you don't violate the law or someone else's copyrights or other rights or interests (see examples above).

  • Upcoming EULA changes, round 3
... to yourself whatsoever. the ONLY thing being looked at for change is the part dealing with the texture re-sellers and since you arent doing that, then what's the sweat? basically, the eula grants anyone to use the filters and their output without any copyright infringement at all. that's the simplicity of it, even if the lawyers did get their hands on it ;) the ONLY part of the eula being talked about for change is dealing with folks who are technically within their rights in reselling the textures ...

  • "All your filter are belong to someone else!"
... posted of the screenshot of the upload EULA, reduce all commas and their phrases down a bit, i think you'll see that i'm right. it's a mouthful the way it reads, but you can reduce it down and make it legible/understandable. and yes, your filter is copyrighted by you, the author, but you better read again about how the sub-licensing works and particularly where it talks about 'unrestricted'.

  • Multi Purpose Scrap Book Frame
... panel. (Check the filter when it comes out to see the many control panel settings. They will be listed here as well as at the bottom of this message.) Includes 20 Presets The cat modeling the frame today is named 'Sebastian'. The photo is copyright to Fr. Michael and used with permission.

  • Adobe To End Applications, Subscription to "Creative Cloud" Coming
... probably have certain agreements with researchers who develop algorithms on what account they can release the software. Pretty sure there are all sorts of laws and things that simply get in the way of simply releasing software for "free". Copyright probably gets in the way (for the algorithms) also patents. That's just my speculation. One day, stuff will be free. At least as far as I know, Flash player goes open source after 3 versions. So there's some level of commitment with certain ...
