  • Carl's Corner :)
... speed up the software development process, so I'm going to spend my time of the wait constructively. When FF 2.0 finally comes (I suspect the beta might be around in the first half of 2009), many of the ongoing issues (availability of a mac version, the resource leak, EULA) will dissolve. "Beliria wrote: Your be missed Dilla!" I'm glad to hear that, but I definitely won't be leaving until I get the hand-signed cushion collection Bella 'promised' me. So you see, they've got me grounded here! ;) ...

  • thanks
Author: Kraellin. ever since the memory leak was fixed, i havent crashed once! that's a pretty big deal, given that i often crashed with FF more than once in a day. and just to add to that, i was working last night and computer resources were getting slim. i had paint shop pro open with work and my browser and FF. i was editing a filter in FF and i noticed things beginning to lag a bit. this is always an indicator for me that ram is full and i'm now running on the swap file ...

  • the old resource leak bug
... i take a screenshot at this point. i then click again and same occurs with new error message. i do this 53 times, each time i get a new error message! and, it hasnt gone away yet and still no browser open. at this point, i decide to free up some resources. i still have psp open. so, click on it to bring it forward and remove the image i have open. then i hit the close X at the top right. nothing happens. i hit it again and this time i get an error msg from psp saying 'program not responding. ...

... enhancement efforts.....focus its' energy on creating some new author incentives with something like this.....and then use the increased sales profits to more quickly and effectively implement the program enhancements.....starting by addressing the resource leak problem that is now negatively proceeding the program as being unstable in the graphics market..... DISCLAIMER: I say these things with nothing but love in my heart for this program.....and wanting to see it be very successful!!! ;) :D

  • Re Filter Promotions
... uncover 2 bugs in the trial program that i was using, which crahed FF and lost the filter you were working on - reported both along with actions to FF but never got an awknowledgment from them. " Those are part of one "Bastard Bug" (aka - resource leak issue).....which hopefully will be resolved soon..... ;) :D You can also contact FF and ask for demo time extensions.....I believe they will give you up to 90 days of extra time.....if you ask them nicely..... ;) :D "Crapadilla ...

... is going to be something to "fill the library holes", then I would suggest asking Vlad to put up the prizes.....and we would run the contest so FF wouldn't have to do anything.....since we don't want them to be distracted from fixing that resource leak, Mac version, and the all-important PC V2..... ;) .....finally, if you get enought reward points and just want to give away free copies.....I would suggest several award catagories like "Most Useful", "Most Creative", "Most ...

  • This is the main thread for discussing the 'bad allocation' exception
... you save... the 2nd window after you hit the save button. all of those things use memory. i've reported this bug many times and every time i've been told there is no fix for it and that they're not sure what is doing this. i'm very convinced it's a resource management problem. i also seem to remember this bug showing up more when they fixed the old memory leak, though this last may just be my faulty, old age memory. my system and FF are almost unusable at this point. almost any render i do on a photograph will crash before i can get the end of the progress bar. when i try to save filters in the editor,...
