  • LAB#3015 Skybase
Author: Skybase. Lowering the resolution of the tiling, we start seeing new ways of looking at the same text. The text actually becomes something different and unexpected. Rather than "reading" you see a sort of simplified language ... or some kind of brail-like system.

  • [help] Matrix code
Author: Crapadilla. At the moment, creating text in FF is very unwieldy (see here (http://www.filterforge.com/filters/1849.html)). Until we get particle bomber and text functionality, it might be easier to look to other applications for creating this effect.

  • How do you find this kind of wireframes ?
Author: Morgantao. "explain the whole process to be able to do this" The presets are saved inside the filter XML file. The author needs to open the filter in a text editor, and copy all the presets to a text file, or post it on the forum. The users can then open their filter in a text editor, and paste all the presets inside the filter XML file. The part of the filter to find and post on the forum (if you're ...

  • Font - using Fonts, typing texts?
Author: SpaceRay. Hello, and welcome to the forum and like your name, as the curiosity is one of the maiin source of creativity and innovations Regrettably the answer is no, there is no way to to use fonts and write texts, because for this to happen FF needs to be able to use vectors This feature has been already been asked since many years ago already in 2006!!! 12 years ago, but until now there is no news that it will happen any time soon, and seeing that there ...

  • More built-in preview images
Author: EAdams. It would be great to have a rasterized text preview image, perhaps one large letter which could serve to show how a filter would look applied to either text or a simple symbol.

  • Please, why there is such a huge empty space in resizable FF library?
Author: SpaceRay. I have seen also that the text from the "about" tab of filters is also working right and the text is also redistributed to fill the available space as it is resized. So I wonder if the problem is with the filter windows, as in the lower window it works right.

  • QUOTE not working in forum when clicking in a post to copy the text
Author: SpaceRay. Please, does anybody else have problems with the QUOTE when clicking on a post and nothing happens? I mean it does not work, and does not copy the text to the answer writing the name of the original writer. I have tried to use different browsers but always have the same error, I mean, I am unable to make it work. If this is an error of the forum, could please someone from FF Inc. website maintenance ...

  • [bug] status bar not cleared
Author: Rachel Duim. Also, from the previous image, the text on one of the sliders is truncated. It should say Background Lightness. I compared this with FF 5 with the same filter and the text is not truncated. In general the slider area in FF 6 looks smaller than before on the Mac using a MacBook Pro.

  • Would it be possible to have a TEXT import into FF as a component?
... Thanks very much for the link CFandM BUT THIS THREAD IS FROM 2006 !!!! 6 years ago and nothing has been already been done about this ? :( "Vladimir Golovin wrote in 2006!! Actually, we considered embedding vector shapes, and text is not very different in this regard. Hovewer, to make filters look the same on different platforms, we'd have to embed the entire font into the filter, which is currently problematic. " It seems that must be really very problematic and very,...

... mirror one side to the other. 2) If you take a close look at my Rune Circle CCX 007 (http://www.filterforge.com/filters/9881.html)filter, there are a bunch of really clever ways to make and manipulate shapes. For example: Pre-repeating an array of text to be projected into polar coordinates. Projecting an array of text around a non-circular shape, like a square, or triangle, etc. ('Array of text' Could just as easily be gear teeth, or Celtic knotwork, or anything else repetitive.)

  • Map Script Input Editor: Changes not saved unless change field focus
Author: scriptorum. This is a very minor issue but it's confused me a couple times. When you make a change on a text field for an existing input in the input editor and then immediately click OK, your changes will not be saved. To reproduce, go to the Input Editor in a Map Script, click on an existing input, click on a text field (e.g., Display Name), modify ...

  • Would it be possible to have a TEXT import into FF as a component?
... basically say "probably not in 4.0." as a logical answer. If you develop functionality for software you'd understand this better. Basically there are logical steps to take and manage before you implement a specific function. In this case a text component would be better off by being part of something like a "custom shapes component" (like having a mini Illustrator) instead of a absolutist, rigid, gradient-controlled component. The transform components are mildly a pain to use ...

  • Romancing the Gorrilla by Carl
Author: SpaceRay. What would happen if you try to use this RTG filter over written text ? I have wrote this text in Photoshop and then used it as source for this filter. The result was made in a duplicated layer, so I still had the original text, so it put the original above the layer of the FF result and faded it until you ...

... can take words and arrange them randomly withouht overlap" What is a WORD CLOUD ? According to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tag_cloud) A tag cloud (word cloud, or weighted list in visual design) is a visual representation for text data And another better one could be "An attractive arrangement of randomly positioned words, where the most important words are bigger than the others." • TEXT Effects
Author: onyXMaster. If you're using Photoshop, I would really recommend you use 16-bit mode when working with text -- FF should work much better with 16-bit antialiased text. Also don't forget about the power of the Selection component along with Photoshop Type Mask tool :)
