Author: Vladimir Golovin. Linda, there are two Blend components in FF:
- Processing > Blend is what you need for the tutorial
- Curve Ops > Blend is what you're currently looking at (A and B)
As for the left-to-right orientation, that tutorial was written for the old version of FF, we reversed the direction of connection flow since then.

I have a video tutorial that I created with very basic animated text and how to create the effect in Filter Forge. There is sound on the animated text but not with the tutorial part. Got to find time to finish it.
