  • Chaos Fields
... out after some more tinkering. I like the idea of the art wall a lot, might end up being a filter with some restrictions, perhaps figuring out some way to deal with different aspect ratios. I'll let it rattle around in my brain for a bit. An example fractal using Something From Nothing by Boogie Jack (https://www.filterforge.com/filters/15496.html) for the fractal colors.

  • Fractal Modules, math & plugins
Author: Artist 3D. Well... I'll just put this link here... :) Ultra Fractal (http://www.ultrafractal.com/) and if adding more and more features, what about allowing plugins support (wow! a PS plugin that supports its own plugins! lol)? so ppl can program their own modules? or at least a kind of a filter-factory module ...

  • Fractal Modules, math & plugins
Author: Vladimir Golovin. Regarding the fractals -- yes, I'd love to see them in FF, but I'm not familiar with the fractal math at the moment, so I don't know if it can be customized to support seamless tiling. As for the plugins/expressions/scripting, we've discussed that idea, and the ...

  • FF4.0 Beta 2: Loops and Recursions!
Author: ThreeDee. Here's the basic fractal tree. I've made it the way that was advised against :D , in other words as a recursive loop, so I didn't dare to put more than 5 iterations max into it. Already with 5 iteration and 3 recursive branches it runs through the loop 3^5=243 times....

... an unbelievably shameless self-promotion.....and welcome to the club!!! LOL ;) ... :D .." Thanks Steve, Feels good to be accepted. :D I like your rendition of my post. StevieJ's Super Art Filter. Awesome! ;) Hey Ron & Carl, Cool Fractals Ron, lots of very cool fractal art out there! Like I said: Some day it will be here at Filter Forge! ;) Here is another render of the same unfinished filter. Have a GREAT day! :) Ron

  • Pentagonal, triangular, hexagonal and other cool geometric tilings
... awesome, amazing and excellent work reproducing the 17 wallpaper groups in a easy way to use in FF Also in the FF forum there is a very good hyperbolic tiling filter And there is many other filters that cover many of these tilings shown above Fractal tessellation (https://sites.google.com/site/geometricarts/fractaltessellation) There are other kind of tilings that will not fill a plane and are based on fractal distribution Compendium of fractal tiling (http://www.mathartfun.com/encyclopedia/encyclopedia....

  • Inspirational ideas with images and videos for creating filters in FF
Author: SpaceRay. I have just found this well done and interesting cool fractals made by Robert Fathauer.com Iteration Art (http://robertfathauer.com/IterationArt.html) And I remember that there was already here in the forum the Fractal tessellation Challenge (https://www.filterforge.com/forum/read.php?FID=10&TID=10317) and ...

  • The Orange Head
Author: Indigo Ray. Cant...stop...forging... :D If we throw salt over our shoulders and cross our fingers, then maybe V2 will see fractal branching, but if not, we'll just have to make do with what we have. To make the dark cracks in this dry mud bed, I applied a bias to stone noise. I then attached a perlin noise to the "bias" of the bias, which was added to tamper off ...

Author: StevieJ. "ronviers wrote: after seeing the stuff done by Daniel White, like the mystery cave, I'm not interested in 2d fractals anymore. Author: StevieJ. "Kraellin wrote: plants grow pretty much fractally. imagine what we could do with the creation of objects and patterns with fractals. " Exactly.....all natures' patterns.....crystaline formation patterns.....leaf patterns.....etc.....endless patterns that are literally impossible to create ...

  • 3d volume textures for games?
Author: Skybase. FF doesn't seem like the best tool for it frankly. I would make something similar using AfterEffects. Use the Fractal noise effect, and keyframe the evolve parameter. Under Evolution Options there's a cycle evolution option, that lets you basically loop the fractal noise (you were saying you wanted Z to be seamless as well). To create seamless textures, you ...

  • Script-component-based filter ideas
Author: ThreeDee. "Sphinx. wrote: solution for procedural rendering of IFS fractals" I've been thinking about this. What I'm considering is calculating and saving the coordinates, scale and rotation for each of the instances of the fractal particle at prepare(), then creating an additional table for every rendering thread ...

  • Heptaflower by Rachel Duim
Author: SpaceRay. This above have been done with a modified version using the Fractal Bomber without shadow from ThreeDee and my modified version (https://filterforge.com/forum/read.php?PAGEN_1=1&FID=10&TID=10282#nav_start) And here is the filter that is able to make this thing, I have added some presets with and without the ...

  • Beta 2 Gallery
Author: Vladimir Golovin. "Kraellin wrote: what the heck are 'octaves' when speaking of graphics?" Octaves are layers of non-fractal (i.e. simple) noise, which are added together to produce fractal noise. It's called fractal because all octaves are essentially the same, but each subsequent octave is twice as small as the previous one. This article includes some pics to illustrate the idea: http://eldeann7.chez-alice.fr/perlin_noise/index....

  • Fractals by Bomber
Author: SpaceRay. Cool and nice fractal multi tree like shown in your last example. Like it. I have tried your uploaded filter above and love the way you have done it, and like also all the presets showing well what is possible AND LOVE MUCH TOO all the great collection of beveled ...

  • Hyperbolic Tiling Challenge
... by Ross Hilbert (https://www.flickr.com/photos/43426211@N07/10591876414) I think it would be cool to try to make this in FF too ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4 - KALEIDOSCOPIC AND FRACTAL HYPERBOLIC TILING Hyperbolic Pattern 20 by Ross Hilbert (https://www.flickr.com/photos/43426211@N07/6689830201) And if you think that the above is not complex enough, let´s then throw in also a fractal distribution When seeing this ...

  • Making trees -- any ideas?
Author: ThreeDee. Hi Kraellin, Thanks for the feedback. I'll get back to this in a few days. In theory, the more tree you can build before running the "recursive fractal" passes, the better: might be able to get the rest of the tree done in 3 or even 2 iterations instead of four, which would affect the speed enormously. In essence, something along the line of building a single branch and replicating it all ...

  • Things I make aside from using FF
... end up on websites like deviantART (http://skybase.deviantart.com/) and my wordpress (http://skybase.wordpress.com/) blog. REGARDLESS of those links above, I'll post up images that are totally unrelated to FilterForge. To top it off, here's a fractal I made using Artmatic 4. Artmatic 4 lets you create your own recursions pretty easily. It has well over 400 nodes and does weird things that no other program does. Anyway, this one's an original fractal made based on a recursion.

  • Have anyone here used the Mandelbulber software ? Spectacular results
... able to make with the very high quality and SO MUCH DETAIL and that metallic look ---> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yb5MRbgNKSk&feature=fvwrel  If the one above was really beautiful, wait until you see this and you you will drowned in fractal beauty and excellence ---> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FoupqgbDkk&feature=related I already know that fractal are infinite and have lots of detail when traveling inside, BUT with Mandelbulber this has reached to really very high heights ...
