  • Forced Buffering Optimization by Sphinx.
Author: Sphinx.. "ronviers wrote: This cap is from the proportional gradient filter. What does the offset do?" ahh... its the invert offset blend emboss trick - here it creates the minimum vertical offset possible, which then is mixed with the inverted offset source and threshold to create an invert mask. The attached filter shows whats going on, only here I adjusted the numbers to get a visible ...

  • Embossing (pre-process surface component)
Author: Austy51. I will have to check that out to see what you did. But the embossing I am talking about would not be similar to the surface effect. All it would render is a bump maps highlights and shadows. It would not implement the lighting map that surface uses. The closest I have gotten so far is using derivative, but it ...

  • Bevel Emboss in FF?
Author: CorvusCroax. "ThreeDee wrote: Here's the filter. Worked better with gaussian blurs that weren't totally directional. Emboss.ffxml " Oh, I forgot to give ThreeDee props for figuring this one out! This gives a much better effect than photoshop, with all the nice lighting effects and what-not. So, we could just stick a tone curve on top of it, and it would ...

  • fleurdele accident.
... very popular motif. if you could perfect that such that all the fleurs were consistent, i'm guessing you could sell that filter." Was thinking that too Craig. Might be worth the x4 in sorting it out jffe. Would make ace wallpaper textures, embossed metal etc.

  • Alien Ribs by ssamm
... guys. This was one of those filters that I thought up, then was pleasantly surprised with some of it's results (where usually my ideas never turn out and I end up scrapping the whole filter). I'm not sure what uses it might serve (maybe some embossed background wall or something?) -- anyway I just liked the Giger-esque feel it seemed to have. (I love looking at his work.)

  • Satin Sheen (preview)
Author: MysticBlueRaven. Thank you very much Jean " Lynn, those look really cool.....like embossed on a conrete tile wall Smile I don't know if you have submitted it yet, but I would suggest changing the name towards somethat represents the texture and tiles..... Smile" Thank you very much Steve, I haven't submited it yet, I am ...

  • Shading Any shape
Author: James. It's not quite lighting in the sense that i just want the module to trace the shape and apply a gradient that follows it, lighting would be the next thing that i would want along those lines also though, bevel/emboss or something like that the lighting version would be which puts highlights and shadows together. But yeah this time i just want the simple version so maybe more chance it will appear :D

  • Am I glass , maybe ?
... much Craig, I see what you mean. The how to has helped me out alot. I did noticed that some of the presets I have in this filter are starting to lean toward an plastic or porcelain look to it. The more I look at the photos the more they remind me of an emboss or an glossy relief or both. I started over and it is what I came up with on the first preset

  • Beliria's Filter idea's
Author: Beliria. "Kraellin wrote: i like the first one on this page the best. i tend to like the ones with a lot of depth but noise free and 'clean'." Top one is from one of the variation filters from the Embossed Delight and the two below are from um.. one of the variation filters I added extra curves to I think.. sent the one that does the two bottom pictures in earlier. Mind am wondering if they are only updating Recents once a week now?

  • Making graphics with FF ... my Gallery
... background was created by starting with a blank file with a filled background. Then I applied some random contrasting colored lines and splashes. Then I applied my This Way and That Way filter. To produce a rough wall kind of feel I used my Color Texture Emboss filter. My Website.....Captured Image Design (http://cafepress.com/cidgraphics)

  • GF Wrinkled Fabric v2 by Ghislaine
... I do like distorted .... This is my cartoon head guy again in three different layers in Photoshop. Bottom layer with a v2 distortion, the guy in the middle layer, and a grayscale version of the bottom darkened over the whole thing. Everything is all embossed texture ... Just like I like it.

  • [help] Filter Challenge!
Author: uberzev. You're not going to be able to create stones that regular in size/shape using FF. Try using Photoshop's Stained Glass filter on some noise and then click invert. Overlay some basic noise textures and an emboss and you should end up with something like this... http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/4562/textureoh2.jpg The only downside is that it won't tile. :( FF really needs to add some more stone varieties.

  • 5 Updated Older Filters
Author: Presidio. "I have to admit that I was kinda bummed when you changed your original "Metallic Emboss".....I really liked that one alot " Oh you meant the orignal... ;) Oh,,, try it on an application... it's much more useable now... but yea.. I'm emotionally attached to this series... we're the only ones who are though Steve... LOL....

  • Chisel Bevel Snippet by CorvusCroax
Author: CorvusCroax. This filter is meant to demonstrate how to make a chiseled emboss effect, similar to those commonly used w/ photoshop. Intention is that you would be using a source image similar to the one below: http://www.filterforge.com/upload/forum/f9a/x1.jpg Which the snippet turns into something like: http://www....

  • Metallic Mapping Sneak Peak
Author: Presidio. Just loaded to the Gallery~ so won't be there for 24 hours. It's called Metallic Emboss. Maps the image color and contour then turns it metallic. (Example image made with the filter attached.) Not sure but I think the forum may or may not have been trying to figure this out. Pretty sure you'all have this figured out already? ...

  • New Processing Components: Illumination, Shadow, Reflect
... version? I'm asking because I still think you were on to something there which hasn't been explored at all. Maybe you could release it as a snippet? " Actually it was fixed a few versions ago. I just sort of forgot about it. Its essentially an emboss. What it lacks is the ability to make the light come from a more overhead position.

  • Flatland Spray Paint 2 by jffe
Author: jffe. "Zephos wrote: I really like this filter! The effect is simply ethereal! Glad to see how you've improved it in the second version as well! I can't wait to try this filter on some scenery pictures, maybe get a nice ghost forest emboss ^_^" ----Thanks. :) I totally rebuilt it inside, it does the same kind of fx, but with a considerably different way of doing it, so more control now. I was kind of aiming for low-fi sci-fi, and I'd like to think it wasn't too far off ha-ha....

  • Water& Blur Frame by voldemort
Author: jffe. Variations #2 and #5 are way cool looking. I tried disconnecting some stuff, and making it a *simple* instead of *surface* filter, but had no luck, it lost that look. I'm not a huge fan of embossing really, and random grainy (refracted) edges only work sometimes. Personally, I'd like to see a 2-D version of this one, with maybe a few more options/features to replace the heigth and frame stuff, and I think you'd have a faster rendering winner....

  • Is there a way to create inverse-value inputs?
Author: Borkus McJorkus. I'm trying to create a filter similar to Photoshop's "Emboss". I need a way to take a numerical value from a slider control and output the inverse value. In other words, if the offset-X value for one Offset component is set to 0.02, the offset-X value of another Offset component -- through some kind ...
