Meet Georgia from Greece — a graphic designer in search of new tools and new ways to describe states of psyche, consciousness, and whatever she considers beauty. She draws inspiration from sounds, dreams, and nature and creates amazing abstract arts. We asked her how she uses Filter Forge and what her favorite filters are.

Georgia Danielidou aka @georgia.danielidou

Ever since I can remember, I have always had a tendency to try different kinds of visual media in an attempt to describe multiple states of psyche and consciousness that one can experience. More often, I just have fun trying new tools and styles.

Sounds, dreams and nature are the elements that strongly influence my inspiration. Experimental Photography, abstract aesthetic and surreal forms are my favorite tools. Some of the artists whose work I admire the most are Rene Magritte, Nikos Eggonopoulos, Zdzisław Beksiński, Dan Hillier, and Lauren E. Simonutti.

— When and how did you find Filter Forge?

I came across with Filter Forge in 2018 on a blog that referenced top digital filter design software. I was interested in applying a style of digital painting on my photographs. Then I discovered and got really stuck with pattern filter effects that I used on some of my pencil artworks and photo collages. The results were really amazing!

— How do you use Filter Forge in your workflow now? What other programs do you use?

I usually start working on my project in Photoshop, then at some point I insert a draft into Filter Forge and apply the filter that appeals to me – just to take a look. At this stage I may modify my project a bit if needed.

I generate 1 or 2 filtered drafts and decide whether to apply parts of them to my work or the whole result as a final touch. In general, combinations and variations that can arise during the work process are unpredictable.

— When and how did you find Filter Forge?

I discovered Filter Forge last year through Instagram.

— Have you used Filter Forge animation or sequential rendering features?

I had no idea about this feature to be honest, so I haven't tried it. Sounds interesting. If I have something cool to share, I will let you know!

— What filters do you like most? Can I have a list of your favorite filters?

I am constantly trying new filters but the ones I use most often are Analoge by emme and Hexagon variations by jhantares.

— Have you ever tried to make your own filters? If yes, which ones?

I don't feel the need to create my own filters right now. There is already so much to explore!

— What filters and features are you missing in Filter Forge?

Although the "Analoge by emme" filter is really amazing (thank you, Emme!), it would be nice to have more options of analogue type photo distortions. Αs for features, the fact that you have already added the animation feature is fine for me!
