Image Width

The Image Width slave component outputs the pixel width of the image that is currently being rendered by its master Result component. It is encoded as an HDR color where the RGB values represent the coordinate: for example, HDR RGB values of 1920, 1920, 1920 encode the image width of 1920 pixels. All RGB values are always identical, and the alpha channel value is always 1.0. Despite being implemented as a slave component, the RGB values produced by Image Width never change during the rendering: they change only when the image resolution changes.

This slave component can be connected to the subtree of any input of the Result component. Note: when connected to the subtree of the Height input of the Result component with the Filter Type parameter set to 'Surface', this slave component does not affect ambient occlusion.

Also, generally slave-to-master connections must not be routed through any bitmap-based components, but the slaves of Result are an exception: see the 'Using Slave Components' section in the help article for Result.

For general information about slave components, see Slave components.
