The Overrides dialog allows you to manually override automatically-determined behavior of global filter controls such as the Size and Variation sliders, and the Seamless Tiling checkbox. For example, if your filter doesn't react well when the default value of the global Size setting is changed, you can simply disable the Size slider, as shown in the screenshot below. Additionally, you can directly specify the method which will be used for blending of the rendered result with the original image:

Size, pixels
Allows you to override the default behavior of the Size slider:
- Automatic (Recommended) – the default behavior of the Size slider: it will be disabled for filters that use only components that don't have any measurable distances (such as Levels, Brightness / Contrast and Hue / Saturation.) This option is used by default.
- Disabled – when this option is selected, the Size slider always will be disabled. This option is useful for filters that don't react well when the Size value is changed to anything other than its default value.
Variation
Allows you to override the default behavior of the Variation slider:
- Automatic (Recommended) – the default behavior of the Variation slider: it will be disabled for filters that don't use randomizable components such as Perlin Noise or Bricks, and enabled for filters that use them.
- Disabled – when this option is selected, the Variation slider will always be disabled. This option is useful for filters that rely on a particular Variation value and don't react well when other values are used.
Seamless Tiling
Allows you to override the default behavior of the Seamless Tiling checkbox:
- Automatic (Recommended) – the default behavior of the Seamless Tiling checkbox. It will be disabled for filters that use non-seamless components (unless they're connected exclusively to “seamlessizer” inputs), and enabled for all other filters.
- Disabled – when this option is selected, the Seamless Tiling checkbox will always be disabled.
- Enabled – when this option is selected, the Seamless Tiling checkbox will always be enabled, even if the filter uses non-seamless components. This option is useful for filters that creatively employ non-seamless components to achieve seamlessly-tiled result.
Blending of the Rendered Result with the Original Image
This group of options allows you to directly specify the method which will be used for blending of the rendered result with the original image. For more information about the blending methods and the algorithm that Filter Forge uses to automatically choose between them, see Blending of Result with Original Image.
