Alexandria, VA, USA (July 6, 2015) – Filter Forge, Inc. today released the minor update 5.003 to the beta version of Filter Forge 5.0, a popular Photoshop plugin that allows users to create their own filters. The current update introduces new components and adds plugin support for Adobe Photoshop CC 2015. The major feature of the current update is introduction of five new components: Modulo, Width, Height, Pixel X, and Pixel Y. Modulo is an RGB math component that performs a popular arithmetic operation. Width, Height, Pixel X and Pixel Y are new slave components of the Result component. Slave components are permanently linked to their master Result and cannot be detached. Width and Height give you the width and height of the active image, while Pixel X and Pixel Y give you the coordinates of the current pixel. These slave components implement the concept of pixel awareness that should help filter authors with precise positioning of filter elements. How to update: To download and install the update 5.003, select Tools > Updates from the Filter Forge main menu. Users who do not want to use the built-in update feature can download and install the latest beta version manually from the beta page. The update preserves all user settings and the license key. Filter Forge 5.0 is planned for commercial release in late 2015. All registered Filter Forge users can get a free beta key to use the beta version until the end of the beta period.
