Filter Forge 6.006 – Support for Paint.NET, Bugs Fixed

Alexandria, VA, USA (December 23, 2016) – Filter Forge, Inc. today released the minor update 6.006 to the beta version of Filter Forge 6.0, a popular Photoshop plugin that allows users to create their own filters. The current update adds Paint.NET as a supported host application and fixes several issues.

How to update: To download and install the update 6.006, select Tools > Updates from the Filter Forge main menu. Users who do not want to use the built-in update feature can download and install the update manually from the download page. The update preserves all downloaded and user-created filters, as well as user settings and the license key.

List of Updates, Additions and Fixes

Platform-independent:

  • Fixed an issue with the Circular Arc component.
  • Fixed an issue where nested Loop components were no longer allowed.

Windows specific:

  • Added support for free Paint.NET as host application via a free shim called PSFilterPdn.

macOS specific:

  • Fixed an issue where a loop with a large number of iterations could lead to a crash.
