Filter Forge 13.0 Released, Simplifies Working with Video Files, Adds New Components, and More

Tallinn, Estonia, December 14, 2023 — Filter Forge today announced the commercial release of Filter Forge 13.0, a desktop application for Windows and macOS that allows digital artists to download thousands of ready-to-use effects and textures and create their own ones in a visual editor. This release introduces a new way to load videos and image sequences, adds support for new file formats, render history, 6 new components, and a few other improvements for filter authors.

Filter Forge is a powerful plugin for Adobe Photoshop, Affinity Photo and compatible graphic editors, as well as a standalone application for Windows and macOS. There are three key features that make Filter Forge stand out among similar tools:

The key feature of Filter Forge 13.0 is a new way to load videos and image sequences into the program. While previous versions required a cumbersome procedure of creating a project before a user could process a video file, the new version 13 supports dropping the source files right onto the main program window, simplifying and speeding up the workflow.

For filter creators, Filter Forge 13.0 adds a number of improvements: an easy way to duplicate an existing connection without the need to create it from scratch, separators on the Settings Pane to divide controls into meaningful groups, and 6 new RGB Math components that represent hyperbolic functions.

Other benefits in the version 13 include support for WEBP and AVIF image formats and a new Render history feature in the main program menu that shows recently opened source files together with the filter that was applied to each file.
