Tallinn, Estonia, May 29, 2023 — Filter Forge OÜ today released the first beta of Filter Forge 14.0, a desktop application for Windows and macOS that allows digital artists to use thousands of filters from the free online filter collection, and build their own filters in a visual editor. The first beta stage features several updated 3D Noise components, an improved eyedropper tool, and an update to the Threshold component. The beta testing will be conducted in several stages, with new features added at every stage. The key addition of the first beta stage is the overhauled 3D Noise components: familiar Perlin Noise and Worley Noise components that have been the keystones for most Filter Forge filters since 2006, are now calculated in three dimensions. This will come especially handy for animation creators. Other additions include HDR capabilities for the Threshold component, and a more convenient eyedropper tool. All registered users of Filter Forge 13 can request a free beta key to use the beta version until the commercial release of Filter Forge 14.0. The final release is planned by the end of 2024.
