Ah! I see, the main preset doesn't really show it, but this filter has a lot of great uses for isolating parts of images! The controls are a bit complicated at first, but it definitely helps for precision, which is what a filter like this is best focused on ^_^

if you look at this filter inside the editor, you'll see i purposely included the base filter (not plugged into the rest of the filter). if you take that snippet and make a copy and new filter of it, you can simplify things quite a bit. just add a control to the 'channel' node of the HLS extraction component and you can do the isolation/extractions based on any of the H L or S channels that way. it wont combine the effects, but it is a simpler way to do it and not quite as confusing. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!
