If someone could make a filter that did this kind of work, that would be sweet! smile:D Then all you'd have to do is cutout the eyes and layer the ogirinal photo behind it. smile:)

I've been whiling away the time, layering some things in Paint.Net. Here's one of the images I came up with. That would make a real fine filter don't you think? smile:D

Here's another sweet image I found that could definitely be done in FF. smile:D

I would be interested in creating shapes with gradients like the attached images - I thought it would be easy enough to do in FF, but have not been able to achieve the effects.

Here's a FF version. Is this what you had in mind? If so, I will go further with this.

Rachel, wow that’s so close - thank you! Perhaps just a little smoother/lighter with the gradient or shape? Wonderful.

The smoothness and lightness can be changed, here's my take, this has no controls, just all fixed values and shows the fake shadow in use. FF7 and above. It also would be a good option to have an angular gradient option as well as linear.

Rachel and Emma - thanks so much for your excellent and fast work on the Gradient Loops, and sharing of the filters - I like both of them and will definitely use them in my artwork. THANKS!

I'd also love to see a paisley filter.

This is quite “doable” in FF. I will experiment and post anything that looks ok. Essentially a very fancy pattern of grouped “commas” with decorations inside and along the edge of the comma.

It's been years since I had requested a filter that can do something like this. Maybe FF has added features that would make it possible now.

I like the way each cell is packed with other smaller cells.
The arbitrary amount of smaller cells being contained but fully formed, constrained by the host cells wall so that nothing over laps. And the part that hurts my brain is that the arbitrary amount of small cells outer edges all nicely follow the contour of the larger host cell.

here's the link to where the image came from https://patternbase.tumblr.com/image/15822276830

Hi All. I'm trying to find a procedural non tiled texture generator that can do this on 6000 x 4000 pixel image. I've included a pencil for scale of the texture. The photo is a close-up of a canvas print. I need to do a mockup of a canvas print. I'll need this texture applied to an Image. Photoshops Canvas texture is nothing like this. Corel Painter oddly seems to only have paper textures. So I'm hoping that an FF expert can mimic this texture realistically. No filter here so far seems to get this look, not even ones that say canvas. Any help?

Here is a quick attempt at this in FF7. Let me know if this works for you. And I can go further. Several limitations:
1) Only works on square images
2) Works best with surface height of 2 or less
3) Uses the old lighting model
I can overcome limitations 1 and 3 with more work if you are interested.

Update, this now works on non-square images, so points 2 & 3 still are restrictions.

I'm having a brain fart. When I click on your .ff file, it opened something that reminds me of a .txt file filled with parameter code. I know there's something simple I need to do to get your file to open right in FF. Could you remind me what that is?, Thanks

The file association for ffxml is missing from your browser and/or operating system. Which browser and which operating system?

Chrome is blankety-blank
Right click the .ffxml filter then Save As to your download folder
There should be a tab with the filename at the bottom of the browser
Right click the tab, then Always Open
Right click the tab again then Open

The easiest way for me to open and view a shared filter file in the .ffxml format, is firstly to download it as “download linked file” (or “save as” - just try whatever works on your system), then place the downloaded file in the “My Filters” folder, where the application data/library files reside on the computer. Next time you open the Filter Forge application, you will be able to find the filter under the Library folder on the left side of the screen > Custom Filters > My Filters.

More info. from this page: https://www.filterforge.com/features/v...store.html

FOR WINDOWS
The path is as follows: %APPDATA%\Filter Forge\My Filters
(by default it is C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Application Data\Filter Forge\My Filters)
- mind the version suffix when speaking of direct links. For Filter Forge 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 it will be
%APPDATA%\Filter Forge\My Filters
%APPDATA%\Filter Forge 2\My Filters
%APPDATA%\Filter Forge 3\My Filters
You can copy this folder to the same location on the other machine.

FOR MAC OS
FilterForge 1: ~/Library/Application Support/Filter Forge/My Filters
FilterForge 2: ~/Library/Application Support/Filter Forge 2/My Filters

Thanks. Here's 2 examples with a pentagon instead of an ellipse for the 'dot'. I may release it with different shapes, in progress.

UPDATE: just released as Dot Paper

Newbie here (insert your eye roll now),

I have an idea for a filter and it appears this is where I post it. If not be gentle I bruise easily. smile:D I think a latte art filter would be awesome. One that takes the user's image and creates a frothy design on top of a cup of coffee. I have no concept how hard it is to create these filters so...grain of salt.

Thanks,
JamieO

Yes, I have seen that with all the geometric shapes available from filters from Ramlyn (Here is just one Rotation machine example) and Rachel Duim (for example Flowers) and other many authors, it could be possible, but you need to make separately each one of these colorful wheels and then feed it into bomber.

The main and essential problem I see with this idea is about the custom configuration of the colors for each wheel and That I do not know yet how to make random colors from a fixed palette from colors you choose to include.

I will try to make some of this Colorful wheels but still need to find the right way to give the colors to them in an easy way for users

ANIMATED WHEELS

And what would be really cool and amazing is to be able to make animations with all these many wheels rotating in a loop.
