I'm working on a new filter, but I doubt it will make it to the library.
It's a very simple idea that I had, but it's already a monter on of filter, and only half done. Also, I'm having some issues and problems in some aspects, so I'm not very happy with it. End of disclaimer ![]() The filter is supposed to make Sonograms (Ultrasound images). Here's a lifesaver fetus: ![]() |

My wife had one of those 3D Ultrasound this week, and the doc who examined her showed us how everything you can see in the new (And expensive) 3D machines, you can also see in the old 2D machines.
He showed us the difference between the 2D and 3D view of things, and it's basically alot of bling bling and eye candy. The 3D is nicer for people to look at when they have a baby, but other than that there's probably not much in it. |

Yea, 3D ultrasound is just a gimick for all the parents who want a picture to go soppy over and constantly show thier friends while boring them senseless with baby-blabber. Doesn't have any use for the proper business of checking the baby is healthy.
Those 3D ultra sound pics are not exactly nice tho, makes the baby look like a half-melted candle made of ear wax. Release the Mongoose! |

Good idea Morgantao...Ahh I am sorry but there seems to be an issue with your baby...We can't really tell if its a boy or a girl..However what we can tell you is that it might be able to float ...

Yeah, never got why they used that horrible yeloowish brown color as their "baby color".
Yep, I agree. Other than <MAYBE> making it easier to see if it's a boy or a girl, it's just so the parents can argue whose nose the baby got even before birth. My wife actually isn't pregnant, the Ultrasound was diagnostic. For some reason her doctor sent her to a 3D-US to corroborate what he saw in an X-Ray, when a noraml Ultrasound would have done the same thing. |

If I was an ultra-sound-doing-guy, I'd totally alter the monitor to be blue and then start off with the screen so the parents can't see, then I'd be like, hmmm, *worried face* and when they ask what's wrong, I'd be like, 'I'm afraid your baby is..... a smurf' and spinn the monitor round for them to see a bright blue baby image.

I'm still very unhappy with some aspects of this one. I'm gonna try to make it better, and then post it.
If I can't can't it where I want it, I'll post it here and ask for help. |

I think it's official, this filter is a disaster...
![]() Rendering the attached image took almost 30 seconds, and a 2000x2000px render took like 4 minutes! Also, I got really lost on some of the aspects of the filter. For example, trying to add a simple feature became a tangle of components, as I couldn't figure out how to do it simply and efficiently. Anyone wants to take a look at it and help me get rid of the clutter? ![]() |

thats looking pretty good, I think 30 sec for 600x600 is quite exceptable [ personnely I think anything under a minute is usable ], I wouldn't mind a fiddle if you post it

OK, here it is:
http://www.filterforge.com/filters/10746.html Please, anyone who knows how, help me to trim the fat and optimize this monstrosity. I'm sure there's alot of redundancy in what I've done. Thanks! |
