Hi,

browsing the Web I found a filter plugin for PS that has aroused my interest. Now I'm asking if something like the effects of this plugins are also possible with FF.

Here are the links to the three different Lucis Effects I really like:
http://www.lucispro.com/lucis-artisti...-index.htm
http://www.lucisart.com/lucisart-3-de.htm
http://www.lucisart.com/lucisart-3-se.htm

Would be glad if someone has an Idea how to recreate in FF.

regards
FH

To me it just looks like high pass combined with the source image.

They might high pass each channel (RGB) separately, but still... very easy to do in FF, if you can figure out what the process is.

I think that for this kind of effects and the high price they ask for this Lucis Software is much better and cheaper the very new Nik Software Color Efex 4 that also have very great excelent filter effects for very good detail enhacement and extraction and ambiental modification as you can see here in this Example images list shown here

or also the Topaz Labs photoshop bundle shown here.

Although even better is to use Filter forge which can also get similar results with some of the filters included in the library, and/or mixing filters toghether.

Many of the filters that are included in the above collections of filters are already made an ready to use in filter forge and sometimes the filter forge version gives better result like for example the Sketch My Pic Up from lipbianc

Until now there are much more filters in FF -- 586 !!! only in Photo filters !! as seen here and many more in the creative category

I think It is a good idea to get inspiration and get ideas from this kind of other companies filters to be able in some way to make something similar in Filter Forge, as I have seen many wonderful photo filter effects in FF very well done.

The best simulations of Lucus I've seen use HDR and/or local contrast enhancement. Here are some after and before examples in case someone wants test images.

Somebody bumped this thread again so here's my solution to it. It can get you very intense effects.

It's an adaptive stack of highpass-overlay sharpen. smile:)

It's because I copied the method directly from an actual product.
