Thanks DJI.
The original idea of the sword is Replay's Swordid Past 1 by CaliCoastReplay. I reduced the customization options for the sword ( the size and the shape are fixed ), so his filter is still the best to make a sword. I added my shield in the middle ( there are 3 different sizes available and 2 positions ). It is based on my other filter The Spherical Connection - Lite Version, but with many changes. I added a simple scimitar : ![]() Then I added the chance to choose the number of swords, to rotate and move them, and to bring them in front or behind the shield. ![]() ![]() ![]() As you can see, there is also the chance to import any image and to add it anywhere on the shield ( it can be used to add to add any heraldry picture ). |

Wow. All I can say is wow. This is fire.
![]() ![]() ![]() For one, it's amazing, and you totally outdid yourself. For another...I was heading in here to cry out about how much more advanced everyone else was here than I am, and how much I wanted to be part of the experience. Turns out...I am. Just a little. ![]() I was going to do a shield filter. I still am going to do a shield filter. But you just made the home plate first. If you were running back to the dugout right now, I'd be giving you daps, and asking you to wish me luck when I head to bat again in a few days. By the way...I'd love to study your scimitar approach for Swordid Past 2! ----------------- (Also appreciate DJI's comment that this is a "great addiction" to the library. "Great addiction" is how I feel about Filter Forge in general.) "A house in Beverly Hills

Thank you! I'm happy that you like it.
Without your filter, I would have never succeed. So, let's say that this filter work is 50% yours and 50% mine. ![]() The scimitar is very simple. It is just a play of Threshold, Blend, Free Ellipse and Free Polygon. I made the basic curve using an ellipse. Then I used other two ellipses combined with a polygon to cut away the useless parts. That's all. It is probably not the best way to make it. For example, using a gradient, like in my shield, instead of the first ellipse, may give a stronger 3D feeling. But it can be complex to find the right balance. I'm sure you can do better. ![]() |

Oh, by the way. I wanted to ask you how you put 4 pics in the same place? Every time I try to put multiple pics in one right after the other it just kicks the first one out.

Well, it can be a bit different depending on the pictures and how you want to blend them together.
Basically the easier way is Multiblend. Don't forget to select the right opacity level to fix how the 4 pictures blend together. If you put a picture over a first picture and you set the opacity to 100%, the second picture will completely cover the first. The first picture cannot be seen at all ( except for the case that the second picture has some transparent area ). If you want to see the first picture, you need to reduce the opacity of the second picture in the Multiblend. Even if Multiblend is easy to use, I generally prefer Blend HDR, because of the blend modes ( Multiply and Lighten are the modes that I use the most ). Try the various modes with opacity 100% at first. If not matching your taste, you can reduce it. Blend HDR only allows you to blend two pictures, so you will have to use 3 Blend HDR to blend 4 pictures together ( blending pic 1 and pic 2, then pic 3 and pic 4, finally pic1+2 and pic 3+4 ). Here it is important to find the right balance of light and blending style. For example, Multiply has the tendency to make the result darker. You can make the final result lighter using other components, or you can use two different blending modes ( example : you firstly blend 1 and 2 using Multiply, then 3 and 4 using Multiply, but 1+2 and 3+4 using Lighten ). Sometimes the obsolete Blend 1.017 can be useful too, having more blending modes. |

Whaaaaaat? LOL. Incorrect! Blend 1.017 has just the same number of blend modes as the current regular (LDR) blend component does. This number hasn't changed since the very beginning of FilterForge. Quit using those old ones unless you have a reason! They're obsolete for a reason! If you mean to compare Blend HDR and the regular Blend component, the two do have a significant difference. The HDR version (as the title says) outputs HDR results, meaning values CAN exceed below 0 and beyond 1. However, not all blending methods output HDR to begin with, for example, overlay, softlight, hardlight blend modes only output the range between 0 and 1 (otherwise it makes no sense). Hence simply put, some blend modes don't exist in the HDR version of the blend component. Also, "multiply has a tendency to make things darker" would be incorrect if I fed two negative values into multiply, the output would be bright! ![]() PICKY PICKY nit picky! XD I'm just being picky, forgive me! BEING TECHNICAL! |

Ha! Ha! Yes, you are more technical than me.
![]() Only the HDR version has less modes than the 1.017 |

??? Wait, I'm hoping you kinda understood me there. I'm basically saying you're using an obsolete component. If you see "Blend 1.017" in the name of the component, it means you're using an old version. The latest version of any component doesn't include numbers at all.
Don't think people should be using obsolete components in the first place unless they have to for some really obscure reason. |

For Skybase :
Yes. I understood. Sorry, maybe my short answer wasn't clear ( wrote while I was in a taxi, going to Shinjuku. ![]() For DJI : Ha! Ha! Ok, got it. You just click "Image" button, you insert the link of your image, and click ok. Then better you go down one line, just to let some space between the pictures, you click "Image" button again, insert the new link, click ok, and it is done. I thought it was about the filter, not the forum. Ha! Ha! For CaliCoastReplay : Wow! You started a new one. You can use my filter as you like. No problem. I hoe to see your new work soon. ![]() |

DJI, I think you are trying to post two pictures links in the same pop-up.
1. Click "Image" button. 2. You should get a pop-up dialog saying "Enter the URL (image width should be less than 526 pixels):" 3. Insert your picture URL in the rectangular area for the URL. 4. Click "OK". 5. Now the link to your image should appear in your post in the forum. 6. Click "Enter" in your keyboard. Click "Enter" again to let empty space between the pictures. 7. Click "Image" button again and do the same things you did from my point 2 to 6. You can add how many pictures you want, repeating the same procedure. Once you finished, click on "Post Reply" and it is done. |

Oh That's what you mean. Your telling me that you put all those pics somewhere online befor you put them here? Ok, Well the only account I have is deviantART.com. And I really don't want to fill up a subfolder with a lot of stuff on that site just to transfer it to here. But thanx for all the info. Sorry I didn't get it at first.

If they are filters of the library, you can just post the link of the picture in the library.
