This gives some really lovely soft effects on portraits, and it's pretty quick too!
Gotta play with this some more tomorrow!

Sherry, when I first saw this filter, I thought it was made by you, because there appears to be a similar kinship in styles — it's a great compliment to ones you've made, no doubt. Great work, ScaryKitty!
I'm enjoying using Filter Forge to create http://torley.com/textures

Northernshadow -- I have always tried for illustration effects in Photoshop, and have created many actions and workflows to get watercolour or other "artistic" effects out of my photos in that program. When I saw your filter, though, I was inspired to try it in Filter Forge as well. Your filter was so pretty and so much the kind of thing I wanted, though I wanted to expand on the concept. (I found that Photoshop action methods don't necessarily translate well to Filter Forge, however! ^_^)

Please know that although you inspired me, I built the filter from scratch. I would never knowingly steal someone else's work. smile:(

All -- thanks for the positive feedback! I hope to make more and better filters as I learn the program better. smile:D

Wow! I love the grainy and blur effect you put in this filter! It really reminds of those old colored illustrations you see in school textbooks for diagrams and figures! Must say that I'm loving your current filter arsenal ScaryKitty, especially this one and Rose Window ~^_^~

Zephos:

Thanks again! I'm pausing for now, since my free demo ends today, but I hope to get back to forging eventually. ^_^

Northernshadow:
I'm glad the inspiration works both ways! You have some really nice filters -- once I stop building, I'll have to start using! Well, when I get a licensed copy... ^_^;

I know that referring to other people's filters for help is okay. I'm just 1) very careful of other people's intellectual property (hey, you did all the work!), 2) I've had one of my filters stolen already -- just barely tweaked and renamed. (The person didn't even change the defaults!), and 3) I really like to see if I can do it on my own. Heh.

Thanks again for all your kind words, everyone! smile:D

Well Stevie had started this thread a while ago about that very subject.

I did when I first found it. They were very prompt and very apologetic. I understand, with all that pours in, that some stuff gets through. It just burnt my biscuits 'cause I worked so DAMN HARD on that filter! ^_^;

The weird thing was, this person had several nice filters of their own -- I have no idea why they'd appropriate one of mine. smile:?:

Reading the thread and getting caught up (I've had my head in graphics-making for my fitlers most the night).

Oh ScrayKitty that sounds horrible~ smile:cry: And I'm so sorry to hear that happened to you.

The reason I'm posting is to tell you that I am downloading your filter and can't wait to create with it. I'm glad I read the thread before posting~ had to do a double take due to the subject matter. That's bad.
