Finally I have decided to have also my own thread to put things I could make from filter forge tests, experiments and other similar things like the ones like Skybase Lab, Shar´s Forge or CorvusCroax´s Junkyard to name only 3 as example

Many of this could be filters that I could be making, or variations of others filters, or mixing filters, or any other thing.

As the symbol for FF is the lifesaver, for the first thing to show is something curious I have done with it and lots of tiny arrows containing also the lifesaver filling (well at least the center)

This is based on 3 different filters mixed together to make this

Here I have been trying to use 10 source photos with transparent background to put them in tiny color paper frames and using you own background image (although I have not been able yet to show all the 10 at once)

Here is one I like much, and is what would really wish to have in FF 4.0 -- FONTS!!! but regretably I think that this will not happen smile:cry:

BUT all is not lost, as with the excelent and awesome work that ThreeDee have made with his Filter Forge own built fonts TD Europa Sans Caps Proc Font Advanced by ThreeDee you can build your own font designs. Love you ThreeDee for making this.

And also using this fonts as shapes with the awesome, special and very artistic Gradient Circles by Skybase

I got this here below

I have to say that I always try to use the filters as they come from the FF library, and want to respect and use them this way so the author can get the usage rank it deserves but sometimes I want to mix some things from one and use it with another one like in this case, although as said, as far as I can I always use the factory filter without any modification.

Here is the same from above but in bigger size to see better the details

and for last one the FF Lionfish with this filter

I have to say that if anyone is interested, I could submit this to the library as it has been a long time and hard work modifying all and mixing it so it can work right and be it like this as shown here, and adding LOTS of more controls to use all the letters and customize them with sliders and checkboxes.

Also you can find many more experiments I made in this other thread

What about Spirography making with images and PHOTOS ?

This ones have been done from my filter Spirograph Break Out by SpaceRay, you have to modify the inside shapes with your own ones with transparent backgrounds.

Examples shown on that thread

All these works above mixing two images with stripes have been inspired by the artworks of the Artist Jiri Kolar and here are some of his works

Well you got a ton of stuff going on over these months. I do like your bomber experiments.

I see where you got your inspiration for those last images. Kolar's works seems to juxtapose essences of western culture and phenomenon. Kinda like viewing two ideologies engraved in society and culture forced into a single image. Very Dada-esque. Would be interested in seeing what images you'd use instead of just samples. smile;)

I feel as for the filters, they can be pushed further and almost compliment Kolar, given it's done through computers. The current filter is like a general overview of what Kolar's done, so adding to that would benefit the overall progression of his works. So for example, what if you can have more than two images? Have the 2nd and 3rd images randomly appear between different bars or have them cris-cross at exact angles. The triangle mask can be some kind of window into a separate image, where each image is represented scattered across multiple triangles. Zigzags are interesting... maybe the 3rd image is woven between the mountains and valleys, like a basket weave. The images alone can be processed individually so they can compliment, juxtapose, coalesce once together.

Excuse me... my critical art-student side came out.

Yes, you are right I like much the works of Kolar´s work (seen on the link above) that you can mix two different images from different theme but that could have something in common to make them match in some way. And also could be used to show two oppositte ideologies in one work but separate by the stripes so they really are not mixed. Also to match colors in contrast and opposites.

Sorry that I did not continue yet to put really meaningfull images and not just samples and tests as the ones shown above, although I will do it sometime when I can and have the inspiration.

Yes, I agree with you and you are right, the filters can be pushed further because this ones are computer generated and in filter forge that open a whole new way of making them. This filter as you say, is just an general overview, because I wanted to test first to make the simple and easy version and then after add more things to it and customize it more. And I also thought before about having more than two images and I like the idea and is good but this must be done right as it breaks the balance from the above and could look bad.

Yes, this could be done easier if the images would randomly appear, but then it would break perhaps the feeling, although I do not know, I should try and see what happens and how it looks to decide if it is good or not.

Yes, good, I agree with this and could be a good way to do it and then have more possible combinations and options.

I still did not find a name for this lines texturing

This filter now has 4 lines sources that you can move and rotate to mix them using blend modes and changing opacity, but I want to make it more control of the lighting as on some images it does not look good, so will have to see more and make more tests.
